Guest Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Ok this is really random...Im stuck in a central american country for a couple months, anybody know about the safety of sending things EMSed over here. customs?
fakemaster Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 I have never heard Panama discussed. I would guess receiving ould be more dangerous than sending.
cib0rgman Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 I am from Honduras back in the 2000 Someone sent me some stuff to Honduras and they opened the box and a coat got stolen. But sending stuff out probably is safer than receiving.
client9 Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) I don't know. But I once sent a package to a person in Costa Rica. The package had, among other items, his new debit card. It never reached him. He soon received a phone call from the bank asking him if he knew his debit card was being used to buy international calling cards. Haha! The post offices in South America are screwed up. Edited July 15, 2008 by client9
perry563 Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 I traveled down to mexico, central and SA for several years. I would not trust anything going through customs. I have heard many countries open all parcels and they take what they want. One coworker who has lived in mexico all his life insisted that he have Joshua send me his watch which I then sent to his brother in law in Boston who then hand carried it to him in Mexico. He did all this because he knew if it went through customs he would never get it.
