Nex_necO Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I got a couple of pocket watches after my grand dad. Any body know anything about them? First one got the Norwegian Lion on the cover. 2nd one says "Philadelphia Watch Case Co" on the inside. First one: 2nd one: I haven't got a clue. Any info would be fun
spamh8r Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) I can be a little help-- the first watch engraving describes the watch. Breguet did invent the 'spiral Breguet' but I'd guess this was manufactured by 'Ancre' which did exist as a watch company... Levees Visibles = you can see the pallet lever and jewels breguet balance spring Double Plateau = Double Roller (good escapement part) compensated balance wheel 15 rubis = 15 jewels The 2nd watch is a Waltham movement with an PA watch company case... a nice American made watch. I have one just like it that I've thought of making a wristwatch case for due to its family heritage. Edited July 18, 2008 by spamh8r
