Pugwash Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Here's a question for all you Omeganauts out there. How much would a one or two year old orange Omega Planet Ocean (45mm) be worth? I can see they're about $2500 new, if you shop around, but I can't seem to find reliable second-hand pricing. Ideas?
baltic Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Hmm, funny you should mention looking for a gen PO... From my searching so far

By-Tor Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 I thought you wanted a 42mm version? The TZ sales corner is probably the best place to get the realistic price ranges for the preowned watches. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=threadt&frm_id=32
Pugwash Posted August 4, 2008 Author Report Posted August 4, 2008 I thought you wanted a 42mm version? I sure do, but my brother may be offering me his and wants a baseline price. It'll be an unrefusable offer as it gets him out of a bind at the same time Do a good deed, get a Planet Ocean, yeah I know I'll not win any sainthoods, but hey.
By-Tor Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 I'd say $1700-$2000 is the "baseline" price of the preowned 45mm PO's... in good condition.
therebel Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 I'd say the average price listed for a good condition PO would be $1900-$2100, with a little haggling anywhere in the $1700-$2000 range. Now, a watch from your brother? $500 and a night of beer. Your doing a good deed supplying him with liquid cash, letting him forget his worries for the night, and you've got a nice gen. A win/win situation for both parties.
Watchmeister Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 I am with By-Tor. $1,700 you are getting the better end of the deal. $2,000 you are giving your brother a little gift.
david-aussie Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 When I was in Hong KOng in Feb 2008. I saw new gen. PO at dealers at 30% discount. So I think I will save up for my next trip.
Pugwash Posted August 4, 2008 Author Report Posted August 4, 2008 I am with By-Tor. $1,700 you are getting the better end of the deal. $2,000 you are giving your brother a little gift. Agreed. Thanks everyone, that's exactly the info I needed.
pppenguin Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 As a guide I would say the watch would be worth 30-40% less than the new price. So ballpark depending on condition would be 2/3 of value of new.
