Did they give you any idea when they'd ship it or when you can expect to receive it? I want to see this thing so badly that I'm tempted to get on a plane and pick it up for you. Although that would probably defeat the whole "reasonably priced" thing, given that my plane ticket would be more than the watch.

I'm dying to see how these look in person. One of my concerns is how it wears. My wrists are dainty and delicate (6.5"), so I can't really wear certain styles of big watches. I can wear a HBB just fine, but a 44mm Pam Luminor just looks like a clown watch on me. So I'm really interested in seeing some wrist shots and maybe a few comparison shots.

Heck, I might just join you on a trip to this place too.

So the price is 15% off from $499 and a free watch?

Yep, just use the code: GORKY15 when you check out and you'll get the 15% off. There's a selection of free stuff you can choose from when you purchase over $175 too.

Actually, it's 44mm according to the Vostok website.

It's not a Vostok it's a Poljot and it's 39mm.

I think you didn't read the question I was answering.

:)

D'oh! Sorry about that. Consider me suitably and appropriately chastised.

No tracking #'s yet. I haven't even got an e-mail saying that they processed my order. Man this wait is killing me!!!

Ever get confirmation that you'll get a free crappy watch with your order?

Ok but post tracking info as soon as you get it.

Do they have anything like the Ruby Tracker? You know, that GPS thing Ruby has that lets you track the exact position of your watch at any given moment while in transit?

Yes, I got a confirm about the free watch and no I don't think they have a fancy tracking system. Would be nice though. Or maybe not. I might be temped to intercept it over the ocean or some crazy thing like that. ;p

Ok, just got an e-mail stating that the watch was shipped out via USPS today from CT. So I'd expect the watch to get here by late this week or maybe early next. Hopefully it'll get here before the weekend so I can do a mini review of the watch.

glad to hear that...I decided to skip this one and to go for a project that I dreamt for more than 3 years now...a nice vintage PAM...more info to follow in the next month or two...

Oops, I bought one. I need to get away from this place (which I did for a year after getting my Davidsen Fiddy, but reemerged 2 months ago and got 5 more watches since then, doh)

I have been really digging the Rose Gold + Black combo. I was looking at the Big Bang rep in Rose Gold and Black Ceramic, but I would rather spend that kind of money on a gen. Hence the Vostok. Here's my other Rose Gold + Black/Brown watch (Hamilton X-Wind):

Where I come from, wearing a Russian watch like a Vostok was a indicator of lower-middle class social status. Today this view has carried over to the point where wearing one is a pretty big fashion faux-pas, because it reminds of days of socialism and financial despair.

So Corgi, buying this one was a mistake? Am I now obligated to go slap my nearest Rooskie??? ;P

Probably should've asked this before purchasing (damn impulse buys), but does anyone know if this comes with a sapphire crystal? Can't find that kind of info anywhere...
