Spring bars Ocean Racer Strap

I am totally stumped with the rubber ocean racer strap, its the ratchet end's spring bars or apparent lack of them that i cant suss out, there was a pic posted but it doesnt seem to still be there, can someone who has successfully resized or knows how to please show me by a pic if possible how to do this?

There are spring bars on both sides of the strap. The pics I put in the thread are not working for some reason, but I just took pics of my gen strap which I am assuming is exactly the same as the rep. A spring bar tool really makes this alot easier, and remember cut a little off, put it back on and see how it fits. If it doesn't take another little section off and repeat.The red circles show were the springbars are
