lanikai
There has never been so many Hawaii Athletes represented in the Olympics as there was for the 2008 Beijing Olympics ! The State of Hawaii was Proud of the Men and Women that represented our Country with Pride and Dignity !! But when all of them accomplished so much and did so well.... that gave all of us a quiet, humble satisfaction that Hawaii's culture has the ability to breed "never say die" attitudes in their youth ... and that we can all accomplish whatever we set our minds to. Brain Clay.. with Numerous injuries throughout the past 2 years.. wins Gold in the Decathlon.. Natasha Kai ... not targeted as a starter not so long ago.. scores the winning goal in the semi's and contributes to the USA winning Gold.. 4 women on the USA Volleyball team with Hawaii ties.. 3 played their Collegiate careers at the University of Hawaii Stanley Clay.. Local Boy too.. Mens Volleyball And the Waipio Little League "World Camps".. they battled back time and again from adversity to reach the finaland beat heavily favoured Mexico.. they are the second team from Hawaii to be crowned World Champions.. it really was the Little leaguers that stole the show.... after all it's all about the "Kids" .. they are our Future!!! Guest carlsbadrolex
Outstanding post my Brotha!!! You Hawaiian's often get forgotten by us main landers. I guess you all showed us! I watched some of the LL world series with my 12 year old and you guys were tough!!! Technically the team from Mexico may have been just as tough, but you guys had the intestinal fortitude to really shine! Congrats to you and all your fellow Hawaiian's. mjmurphy926
Natasha Kai is a hell of a player. I covered the US woman's national team in a pre-Olympic warm up a couple of weeks before the Olympics. They were playing the same Brazilian team they beat in Beijing for the gold. She's tough as nails!! You have plenty to be proud of!! A couple of shots I took of Natasha: Pregame:
