The date on my A7750 Chopard only jumps half at the date change.

What possibility is the problem? Can this be fixed. Any tutuorial around for fixing this problem?

BTW, is Chpopard using the datewheel orginally comes with the 7750?

The movement experts pelase chim in.

Thanks.

You would need to remove the movement from the case & then remove the hands & dial to gain access to the date change components. With the dial off, if you can run through all of the dates without any problem, that means the date wheel is coming into contact with the bottom of the dial. This may be due to the date wheel being bent or misaligned. If it gets stuck on certain dates without the dial, then there may be a problem with the date change mechanism, most likely the parts need to be cleaned & lubricated.

I do not think there is a tutorial that explains how to troubleshoot this, but any watchmaker (willing to work on reps) should be able to diagnose & fix it.

Thanks freddy. This is what I suspect. I took it to my wtachsmith but he refused to do the fix not becasue it is a rep ( he has been my wonderful repair experts for all my watches both gen. and rep) but rather he worries about the risk of parts broken in dissemabling the A7750 since most of the gears/parts are quite badly machined. He suggested me to ask for a replacement is the safer bet.

The end result will be the same, but I think your watchmaker was just hesitant (like many watchmakers these days) to work on a chronograph.

A year ago or 2 ago, before I disassembled my 1st 7750, I tried to find a watchmaker to work on 1 of my watches. I must have contacted over a dozen in my area (some were in the business for 20+ years) & they all either refused to work on them or just referred me to a watchmaker in NYC (I forgot his name) who they send all of their chrono work to. The NYC guy wanted several hundred (in advance) just to inspect & perform a general servicing & the price went up from there if any parts were required. After refusing to pay that much, I asked the watchmaker if he gets alot of chrono work & he said no. Considering his rates, no big surprise there.

So, with that, I tore down my 1st 7750 & after spending ALOT of time & running into a number of dead-ends, I finally got it back together again (in proper running condition). I have since done a couple more, but I can certainly see why so many watchmakers simply refuse to work on them.

I would contact Ziggy, who knows these things as well as anyone & does consistently top quality work for a reasonable fee.
