Faker
I noticed the opposite. My genuine seems to have a yellowish hue to it, while my rep is closer to the white spectrum. The difference is minimal, and a virtual non issue in spotting a fake. I have to put both of them on my wrist and stare to see a difference. I might add that I never did see the original shine of the rep, as I had it shipped straight to RBJ for polishing. Now you guys got me paranoid! Someone is stating that the reps have a yellowish tint, and the gens do not! Am I gonna have to take this to another Rolex dealer and get this checked out? Whats the probability of a jewelry store selling a rep as a genuine? does this sort of thing happen? If I take the watch to a Rolex AD how much will they charge to let me know if it's real or not? Bignasty
Great read here regarding some differences between 316L and 904 stainless. http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/smpvssub.html 904 resists scratches better so the bracelet/case looks less worn over time. kanerich
Frankly, there are plenty of flaws in most Rolex reps that are detectable long before someone says "hey, the SS isn't bright enough, this must be a REP!!!"
