Dealer USP's

Hi all.

Been lurking for a while in particular at rwg1. Came here in the exodus. Ordered a few reps for my 1st order. 2 were great (Rolex Submariner and Tag Monaco) 1 needed sending back to china. (6.75 Breitling) Now these things happen I know. I researched the main recomended dealers and their respective usp's. (Unique selling points) Narrowed it down the eurotimez and Josh. I liked eurotimez but the website put me off a bit although I loved the idea of chriss's qc. Went with josh in the end. Now it wasnt till I sent the watch back that I started reading threads on customs. And It dawned on me that there was a real chance you could lose your watch and your money. Ok a small chance but a chance all the same. This has got me thinking about the dealers and my future orders and how I percieve the whole rep thang.

Patience is something I now understand is something that needs to be shown if you are going to get involved in the rep business. Thats fine. Considering the quality of the watches I think they are worth waiting for. However something that would put me out of the game straight away would be losing a returned watch at customs and my money. Waiting a couple of months for a good rep is something I am prepared to do. Spending $400 dollars on zip is not. Hence this thread:

Chriss's qc policy - Fantastic.

Josh's communication - Fantastic.

Sadly these usp's become useless if you lose your watch at customs. Now is there a dealer that would replace your watch if you lost it? Ok proof would be needed to stop the players but if it is such a rare occurance I think the dealer that was willing to do this would secure himself some fine custom.

I will be honest, the thought of losing my watch at customs has taken all the pleasure out of the experience. And for the purists out there who have told me its part of the game and if I am not willing to take the risk then I should buy a gen, I say Thanks for the advice but at the moment I cant afford a gen 6.75. Am I so bad for not wanting to throw $400 down the drain?

If there are any dealers out there that do offer this then who are you? I mean a dealer that is willing to offer It as a matter of course not just to long term buyers that have spent a lot. As an example I am a window cleaner. My customers send payment through the post. If a customers payment was lost and they showed me proof of postage I would not cancel their service, I would give them the benefit of the doubt. ( I mean small payments) I am sure a dealer could take a hit now and again. A promise to cover loss at customs would get me spending my cash for sure. If I lost $400 I dont think I would buy again from anyone.

Just my thoughts. :) Be gentle with me :)

Josh has been known to replace watches lost in transit on many occasions.

However, if you're in the EU, then using Chris makes a lot of sense. He'll charge you more to despatch from within the EU initially, but it removes the chances of customs getting their grubby little mitts on your precious rep. Same goes for Precious Time or Narikaa.

Personally, I'm quite happy to continue to use Josh, Lawrence, Ruby and the others as I've only had one faulty watch out of 9, and that was dealt with without problems of any kind (by Josh). It's really down to your personal comfort zone, I guess... (I'm in the UK btw).

That looks fantastic guys. So eurotimez will garauntee postage for $25.00. Anyone know the policy for a watch sent back to chriss. As in my position. Ive sent my 6.75 back to China. The garuantee only appears to apply one way. from the dealer to me. not visa versa?

Hont clearly states that in the event of a customs loss, he will re-send until you receive your order. He doesn't drop ship, either.. actually handles and packs each order.

hontwatch.com ; hontwatch.50webs.com ; email: hontwatch@gmail.com

This looks interesting. Site doesnt seem to want to show me any breits at the mo. will look into hontwatch. Do the garuantee's only apply one way though?

Officially yes, but I've known Josh to replace watches that have gone missing in transit to him. I get where you're coming from, though - the uncertainty is a b*itch :)

Your right its the uncertaintly that is the killer. My thoughts when ordering were: its no problem because you will eventually get your watch. but technically thats not true. I wanna play, I just dont want to pay a $400 joining fee.

I asked josh outright. "where do we stand if the watch get siezed?" He told me he has never lost a watch to customs sent by registered airmail" That is a reassuring answer. However I would have loved him to say "No problem. Prove it and I will take the hit" :)
