Plyskin
Great site! Rave reviews for the seller. They look identical except for the guts. So my question - is there an appreciable diffence for $160? Thanks in advance.
blue_sphere
You are asking what the difference is for a swiss ETA? One word... Reliability!
alligoat
and serviceability. You might be able to get your watchmaker to clean and service an asian movement, but then again, you might have to shitcan it and start over.
whitestripes
You can get a new Asian movement for ~$14... so 12 movements for one ETA.
alligoat
But have you tried to put a new asian movement in your watch- it's not that simple and when and if you get it done, will it last? And if you have it serviced, the servicing costs will exceed the cost of the movement, unless you live in China or Thailand. So don't let the cheap price fool you.
