reprep Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 After wearing my ROO Ruberclad 5 times....and being VERY careful not to hit, nick, rub on, or even wear a jacket with it, and after hearing some of the other member's stories.......the rubber coating on the bezel is starting to wear off in a rather obvious and ugly way. I mean I BABIED this thing and it still wore off. Word to the wise....my advise is to steer clear of the AP ROOs with this bezel until it get "updated" with a thicker or more durable coating. I am extremely disappointed, as the rest of the watch is top shelf.
Samurai Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 I had the same issue. Got a replacement bezel and all good for now
MADRED7 Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 My rubber bezel is worn off....and I did not even wear the watch I asked Angus for a replacement bezel....but he said he had non.....a wonderful watch ... but only for the box to look at Stay away from these rubberclads.... Theo
watchturbo Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 you got any pics to share with us of the peeling rubber off the bezel?
bosk Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 I wear my rubberclad all the time and no problems yet (silix version)...I wonder if there are different versions out there.
frankpower88 Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 so if you take every thing that is peeling, is it ss under? or what. is it possible to take it all off and to transform it into a ss bezel? i have one of those rubberclads on the way and i know the rubber is not perfect so i would like to know . thanks
frankpower88 Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 Under the peeling it's black. so if you take all the rubber off, you will have a black ss bezel? is it well finished or rough? thanks for your answer

iceberg1459 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 how is the gen made? is it pure rubber or also coated over steel but better?
reprep Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 I removed the peeling bezel (with the help of the post detaileding the AP ROO bezel removal proceedure) and used laquer thinner to remove the rest of the thin rubber coating. It came off very easily. The bezel is PVD coated underneath the cheap rubber coating, and actually looks pretty damn good. Put it back together and am very happy with the result. The cartel should just offer them this way to begin with and save everyone the hastle.

May I ask from which dealer you bought your ROO from? I was just about to by a rubber clad from Joshua, I spoke with him and he said the peeling issue had been solved but I was really curious where you got yours, thank you
