bosk Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 The speedmaster-type bracelet is normal on the black SMP...yes u can get it with the bond bracelet but most of the gens I see have the speedmaster bracelet. Once again....awesome watch! It makes me think twice when I'm bidding on SMPs on ebay
whitestripes Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 God I wish I was around when trusty had this rep.
kez Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 great review - you've just made me buy a gen only(!)
Kahn Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 What an extremely wonderful and fantastic read. Truely a pleasure!
clellandm Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Excellent review - and great pics! I know Dell Deaton from a far different forum where he is The Bond Watch Expert bar none. This has me thinking about getting one of these blue beauties again. Everyone misses the mythical 'closed factory' SMPs, but they are gone. Where are the best reps currently available found?
f5mando Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Thanks for this truly complete write-up. I love my 2531.80 and nothing else feels or looks like it. I got rid of my rep, but kept one of the chrono, which also gets a lot of wrist time (still nowhere near as comfortable as the SMP- it's just sublime).
imranbecks Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 Ah yes, the rep 2531.80.. Its my favorite watch and my favorite rep... I hope to get a gen of the watch one day.... But since the 2531.80 is already out of production, the 2220.80 will do.. Here is mine...

I found a new one at an AD in Florida this year, and they're readily available 'pre-owned' on timezone.com for between $1,100 and $1,500. I just looked and saw two for sale now: There is no substitute!
