If you also ordered a loupe (or have young eyes) you'll want to push on the end that isn't split - meaning the one that doesn't look like a screw head.
  2. I can't even guess at how they take a part of the dial that has always been fine and make that big of a change/mistake. Like you said, gen dial and hands not only fix that problem but make for the perfect UPO!
  3. I need to borrow a camera from one of the kids and take a wrist shot, but in the meantime, the 4th gen PO with a friend:
  4. It is freezing cold in Ohio as well! No good wristies, so... in case my PO needs to shoot someone, it is properly equipped.
  5. Like the original poster I didn't own the tools and was in a rush to get my PO on my wrist asap. I went to a mall jeweler and he got it to the right size. I ordered a loupe (get the head-mounted binoculars instead so you can use both hands!) and the plastic screw-style pin pushing tool as well. The mall guy took links out of both sides until the circumference was correct, which doesn't really make the watch fit (and he was oblivious to the half-link). When my tools arrived I actually added a link and a half to one side and removed an extra link from the other side so the case sits on my wrist correctly. The tools are worth getting since someone in the house will always have a watch that needs sized.
  6. Simon, It has been a while since I've seen my 4th gen, but based on those pics this looks like a 4th gen to me. You are correct that the feet on the logo are wrong, but the hands are short as well, that is the way it goes with these reps. There are a couple of dealers selling a 21j 42mm PO for around $100 that look pretty good, but they have the 45mm style of bezel.
  7. Nice PO, Wayward. My 42mm PO is back at the shop, possibly the chopped-up plastic spacer is keeping the rotor from spinning when the back is on. The watch runs fine after winding, but dies on my arm about 36 hours later. Bummer, but I'm sure Rex will figure it out. In the meantime I am still enjoying my pretty SMP.
  8. Nice looking watch! Did the band fit the case or did you have to adjust it?
  9. Last I heard it was running well after degunking, the dial lume was great, and he had to relume the hands until he liked the way they looked. Hopefully he'll put it back together and send it home soon. My SMP is lonely! I'll let you know how it turns out, but I have only heard good things. Surprisingly he found a true swiss movement in it, so it appears it to really be a 4th gen as advertised (I bought it used).
  10. I think he goes by TRex650, but isn't really active here. He is a professional watch builder/repairer/healer that goes by Rex450 on one of the other rep boards with the initials of RG. He has his own spot there where some of his work can be seen. I checked references before sending my watch there, so it should come back in nice shape.
  11. Yep, the history of Daniel Craig and Planet Ocean is 45.5mm on rubber in a few outdoor scenes in Casino Royale. Next thing you know he is an Omega Ambassador and in print ads sporting the 42mm PO on a SS bracelet. Which is what he wears in Quantum of Solace. Then they put out the QOS special edition with the cool PPK grip dial and controversial QOS etching in the crystal - in 45.5mm only. All this talk of 42mm POs makes me long for mine that is still getting cleaned, regulated, and lumed in the frozen tundra of SW Pennsylvania.
  12. Some might say I'm stuck in a rut - but I'm waiting for my 42mm PO to return from the shop! Until then, loving this SMP.
  13. You are fearless - but I think that watch is going to look great. Congrats!
  14. Good question, Stephane's dial looks totally different (and better). I think we're looking at 2 completely different watches or factories.
  15. I finally have one to share! My Fake Master Omega SMP will be on my wrist all week:
  16. 6'4", 200 lbs according to wiki. I was thinking that the PO had to be a 45 because it looked pretty big because it had a lot of presence despite being on black rubber. Everyone sees things a little differently, but in this case we all seem to have come to the same conclusion.
  17. Very nice! Normally I think chronos look too busy, but that one looks great. Excellent choice! The SMP is a beauty as well. The hands look about the right length for once, and the "points" are lined up on the bezel. Great selection!
  18. How very festive, I can practically hear the jingle bells! I have minimal hope that my PO will be back from repairs, but very hopeful that a modded Bond-blue SMP will be completed and under the treee.
  19. This watch would be from Casino Royale, where he wore a black SMP in the dress scenes. In Quantum of Solace he wore a PO 42mm in all the scenes. The QOS special edition is a 45mm PO with a dial that is supposed to look like the checkered grip of a Walther PPK. There is a rep out of it at a trusted dealer on another forum called WackoBirdKeeper. Pretty neat looking, not sure if that 3D dial would get old in a hurry or provide years of interest.
  20. That would be a great watch to have in quartz since there is a gen quartz, congrats on a great job! Now that you have it figured out, how much will you be charging to build them for the rest of us? LOL
