TheDon
Im new to the rep game and I love Panerai. How is this watch here? http://www.jpc8118.com/pn11105-series-asia...6497-p-782.html I just want a basic Panerai with as little problems as possible and looks closet to the gen. thanks
hambone
For the price, it is a good one. To be more like the gen you will need to fix the canon pin.
TheDon
Can you be more specific about the cannon pin? Is it easy to fix? Can I do it myself? It is an obvious giveaway? Overall this watch is pretty good?
TheDon
Also, I have a feeling the see-through back will be an easy give away that is a replica. Is there a similar Panerai model that doesn't have the clear back?
Toadtorrent
I just want a basic Panerai with as little problems as possible and looks closet to the gen. Hah hah hah...that's really funny. Just kidding. No offense...but that's what we ALL want out of ALL of our reps. First rule of thumb, unless you start replacing rep parts with gen parts at great expense and time, ALL reps can be spotted as "fake" by the RIGHT Watch Idiot Savant who knows their stuff. The odds of bumping into somebody like this is rare...as they are probably spending all their time reading this forum or Paneristi. Regardless, that's why we generally so: Don't take your rep into an Authorized DealerDon't try and lie that your rep is a gen...you'll only get embarassed sooner or later If you don't know what a cannon pinion is...it's definitely something you CANNOT fix. It is the post int he centre of the dial that holds the hour and minute hands. It shouldn't be recessed like that BELOW the minute hand. It should be a little higher than the minute hand producing a "bump" at the top. Don't attempt to fix this...you'll only wreck your watch. You need a watchsmith who knows rep movements, and how to source the right parts. The problem is, this issue exists with almost all the PAM reps out of the box. So, you have to figure out if this kind of issue (amongst others) that you need to fix or it will drive you crazy...or you can still enjoy the watch because it's pretty close. I trust you have read my Noob Guide as you have found a decent dealer to buy from so far. Good luck!
mjmurphy926
Take a look at this: http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...f2ae6ef5e7626a5 I'm pretty sure it's the same watch but with rubber strap and $20 cheaper. If you're the typical PAM guy, you'll be mount an after market strap on it anyway.
paneristi
well, I am newbie myself. But I get to know that Davidsen is a specialist in panerai replicas. gonna get mine in the coming weeks which is a rxw mm20 replica. I will post some picture in due time. My tip is go for a quality watches but bear in mind you have to invest 400 usd at least. some cheaper offers seems attractive at first glance but considering the low quality they offer its quite expensive. spec you might need to take into consideration irrepective of models: -100% real sapphire not synthetic once which are mineral glasses with a shapphire coating (risk to explode) -100% swiss unitas movement not swiss/asia combination (however, I am not criticising the asia movement but swiss tend to be more reliable depending on the quality of the source) -superlumed (perfect illumination) -cannon pin fixed go to links section above and click on dealers you should be able to find davidsenjpn and other dealers. hope this helps sorry for my improper english
