Indyclmbr
Hey everyone. I have a quick question for those in the know and those with and Explorer I. The genuine is listed as 36mm in diameter. I've seen several offerings from different dealers here ranging in size from 35mm to 37mm. Does anyone know, is there really that much of a variance (I realize we're talking mm here) between what the different dealers offer, or are they all basically the same case just "measured" differently so we see several different sizes listed? I'm curious to hear thoughts or input. Thanks all. Climb on.
RedRocket
I just measured a gen... and I got 37mm including crown, 35 w/o Now that clears it up doesn't it!
alligoat
If it's one thing that I've learned playing w/ reps, it is that they typically aren't the same size as the gens. With the exception of the vintage MBW's, sizes are usually a little different. Be it a replacement crystal, bezel or dial, there's always a chance other parts won't fit. At least w/ the Explorer I, you don't have to deal w/ date mag, and who's gonna miss a mm.
Indyclmbr
Thanks guys. That's interesting about the gen. measurements. Rollie website says 36 mm. My rep measures the same as your gen RedRocket, 35mm w/o crown, 37mm including the crown. I was curious because I was thinking about updating my EXP I but I was confused by the different measurements. I guess the dealers are measuring with and without crown which would explain the difference. Sounds like the one I have is a keeper. Again, thanks for the response. Much appreciated. Climb on.
