Comparison Genuine vs Fake Vintage Rolex box set

Fake box sets are still being sold on the bay as genuine, so watch out!

Most of the flaws are obvious but I thought a side by side comparison would be nice for future reference.

Quality is probably the biggest difference.

On the sleeve, the color can be a dead giveaway.

Some reps are too green...

This example does not have the Rolex Oyster print in the correct lower left position.

Gen vs rep

The gen pillow and cloth should have a nice suede-like texture to them.

Rep is some flimsy foamy cloth.

Most fakes will have the ROLEX printed in the center on the inside of the box, they are easy to spot.

It should be in the corner. This particular example goes to that extent, but the differences in font etc are noticeable under gross examination.

On the outside, the wrong material, stitching, and logo are present on the rep.

hello,i have a box of my father's rolex.i am looking to selling it.i know it's genuine the picture you've uploaded look dead on with mine(the real ones) i do no though have the envelope,i only have the green box and the rolex oyster cardbox box.also in the cardbox box on the right side there is a light blue cirle sticker and next there is apperantly the serial but it's half scratched and there is pen all over it.does this effect the value? and how much should i list for? thanks!
