southwest Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I have a Red Sub with a Swiss ETA that was purchased a couple of years ago from King. I wanted to replace the bezel insert. The bezel is not exactly to my liking either and I found a bezel and insert for a 1680 at Clark's on eBay. My question is how can I determine if that bezel will fit on my watch. Is there some way to measure it? I don't need one for a paper weight! The date window magnifier is centered but to far to the left. I am also going to replace the crystal with a Clark model. Maybe this will fix that situation. Regards, Al

But if your 1680 has the wire system for holding the bezel in place, you have just bought a nice paper weight. BTW, if it is the latter, I maybe could use it so it won't be a total loss Kurt
southwest Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 Good thing I haven't purchased anything yet! I am going to abandon this project.
ubiquitous Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 The old CN set up with these bezels was set up with a wire tension spring, vs. the gen and MBW method of using a retaining ring for the crystal with a flat washer and tension fit bezel ring. The only thing that might be compatible between the two is the bezel insert, though I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't fit the CN without gluing anyway.
