U-Boat Thousands of Feet

Am seriously considering buying a U-Boat Thousands of Feet. The models look very very accurate and also come with Swiss ETA movements.

Best of all....@ 50mm...they are massive.

Here are the ones that I am considering....but am not able to make up my mind.

I think the SS one is to go,you want have to be afraid if you scratch it and the PVD pills off.

@1976...you have a point. However, the quality of PVD application has improved these days. I have a Graham PVD.....which I have been using for a few months now....not a single chip/scratch anywhere.

Not familiar with U-Boat, but option 2 & 3 is sick...SICK..

Looks greate, and 50mm...you gonna look like Popeye with massive forearms..

How on earth does Rolex fall into your definition of a fashion brand????? Maybe you're not familiar with their history. Maybe you should do some research before yapping off. Panerai might be more of a fashion brand but while the company itself was dredged up from death, the brand itself has a long history. There are dozens of better examples of fashion brands than Panerai and Rolex. Neither should be included in the list.

Isn't fashion what it is all about though? If timepieces hadn't evolved, wouldn't we all still own a sun dial? Everyone has their own personal taste and what is beautiful to one is [censored]ing hideous to another.

I was hung up on Rolex for a while and loved them above all else, but now having been able to access many different reps that have caught my eye, I can enjoy them all, but some from a distance including U-Boat and the Chronofighter. In my opinion, both are like Shrek, you either love them or hate them.

I just bought a gen Cartier Roadster XL GMT - Isn't Cartier a fashion brand? The watch though, is absolutely beautiful and I see it as both functional with a very good movement that looks sensational but that is my own taste and I am sure that not everyone will agree, but each to their own.
