webvan
Not sure where to post this, did a search on "Marina Militare" but it didn't bring up anything obvious, couldn't locate a stickied guide either, so here goes, just a quick post to say how happy I am with the "Marina Militare" I just got from forum member justasgood. I don't know much about Panerai reps yet, but this one looks really nice ! Solid, nice dial, nice glass, etc...can it get any better ? Don't see any Panerai marking though, so not sure what type of model it is, anyone care to educate me quickly ? Here's a pic he used for his add :
peepshow
Since this watch doesn't have any Panerai markings, it would more correctly be called an homage watch, instead of a rep. Either way, it's a great watch and Kurt is a wonderful member.
webvan
Thanks, I was wondering if maybe some "older" models would have come without the Panerai markings ? I see on your avatar that you have a similar model 'maybe not SS ?) with the Panerai markings.
peepshow
The watch in my avatar is a Panerai 040. 44mm, titanium case and tritium lumed dial made in B series only. You're right, some of the vintage models that were created for military use would have been marked with only "Marina Militare" but those would have all been 47mm watches like the 6154 (Luminor style case with no CG), 6152-1 (Luminor case with CG) or the 3646 (Radiomir style case). webvan
Thanks, I take it my model is a 44mm ? I'm going to have to get up to speed! Still like that watch, feels like a tank. Wonder if these reps are watertight at all?
