seadweller3 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Can anyone point me to instructions on how to properly oil a new Rollie bracelet? I believe there is something somewhere but I can't find it. Thanks!
Shundi Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...ling+a+bracelet Great thread on the oiling procedures used by various members...I personally disassemble the entire bracelet, clean it with mild soapy water, rinse, dry...place in a large container of baby oil in a dark room for 3-4 days (still disassembled) and for Rolex bracelets I use latex gloves to reassemble the bracelet IN the oil (sounds like overkill and prob is...but it works smile.gif ), pat and wipe all excess oil, wash thoroughly, pat dry and use a high quality auto wax... if there's any stiffness afterwards I might try repeating the procedure or, worst case, swapping the screws...
Irontomkidd Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I read it once and I believe it was
Shundi Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 @ITK :Only because I pasted my response from another thread
involt Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I employ vaseline. It's colourless, odourless, viscous and easy to remove from the external surfaces. It's perfect for the job if you don't mind the ironical smiles of the druggist...
