swdivad Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 NT... Does genuine super luminova have a lifespan? 5 years, 10, longer? Like tritium, does it fade with time? Just wondering
sssurfer Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 As far as I know: no, it lasts forever. Naturally, nothing is forever...
swdivad Posted July 24, 2006 Author Report Posted July 24, 2006 So, if we get a watch with super luminova hands/indeces, it should glow similar when new as it will 10 years and more? If so, I guess I'll be shipping out my 195 dial soon :-(
Watchmeister Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 If that is the case than my older gens are all defective. Tritium lasts longer than Lume.Tritium is good for something like 20 years (half life or something like that), lume fades after 5-7years or so. An expert should chime in if I have the time periods wrong.

I am wondering because of the 195 (L dial) I have just received from Davidsen. The lume is not bright and I am wondering if a gen 195 would still be glowing like a torch... If so, I will have it relumed.
