kazjim Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 Hey All, i cracked the back off my new Monty and using a few tutorials here i managed to get the stem out ... now the weird thing, this stem does not appear to be actually broken, but it has a small snap ring on the crown end and a very small plastic 'ring' and a spring .... I'm pretty confidnt that thats all that came out when it "popped" off .... So, how to reassemble ? I know Jay could fix it, but thats another month of waiting on the post and emails ..... Help ?? offshore Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 What movement is this from? Appears to be a "one piece" crown/stem, for a screw down seal. If you can source another stem with a normal thread/crown arrangement, you may be better served. Depends on the movement! Offshore
slickdick Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 It seems the tube on the crown (which screws onto the stem) is snapped off. The stem is fine, you will need to unscrew the black circled piece off of the stem. I think you will need a new crown.
