spider87
Howdy guys I just figured I'd tell you my story of my replica purchase. It was actually on Canal Street I was walking along looking at the watches in the cases (with my friend who is huge haha I'm not a tall guy(not a midget but I'm only 5'11 or so as compared to my friend who is about 6'3)) We walked up to this one case and there was a guy next to it he said 'You wanna buy a watch?' I'm like 'I was hoping to' (I was looking for a fake mind you) he said 'What kind, like like Rolex?' I'm like 'Sure' He says 'White or Black?' (I'm still not 100% sure what this meant but I believe it was probably race probably his way of saying style to fit white man or black man which is ok in my mind at the time though I figured it meant either faces or metals so I said white (to get a stainless or equivalent). He pulls one of out his pocket and slaps it on my wrist before I knew what was going on haha. He said '$150' I'm like 'oooh crap I only have $40!' and started taking it off he's like "NO NO KEEP THE WATCH ON!" and said "Hmmm.. GIME THE MONEY!" and I gave him my $40 and now I have this beautiful Daytona model rolex replica that has been keeping great time. It features the automatic movement and is almost indistinguishable from a real daytona. I took it to my jeweler's and he said everything seems 100% except of course the movement isn't a real rolex movement but he said it's still an expensive piece. My question out of all of this is. Where did the guy on canal street get a watch that he could justify selling for $40? I can't find anything priced below $100 in the Daytona line? spider87
can you post some pics I'm trying to figure out how to take good pics with my Curve but it isn't working out so well :-\ no macro lens I'm also trying to figure something else out to take pics with but only thing I can think is to take a few stills with my video cam. Probably the best I"ll give that a shot. :-) Also, to note a few flaws with the watch I failed to put in the first post: There is a scratch or 2 on the face above the top left dial. The white bits in the middle of the numbers are a bit off center(in a few cases) And I might just not know how to work them but the 3 smaller dials don't do anything(yet??) Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated Edited February 7, 2009 by spider87

( ) We'll see about that! haha I've had this name since I was 11 (because you had to be 13 to sign up for websites so when I put 1987 as my DOB I was naive enough to believe someone actually cared about that lol so I made sure my name had an 87 at the end so they had no reason to be suspicious lol
