Correct crystal for Euromariner with a gen insert?

well, after FIGHTING to get a gen insert into the mariner with a slight recess, the problem BK noticed a LOOOOOOOOOONG time ago is very apparent.

The clark's crystal that comes outfitted with the euro is obscenely to0 tall with the gen insert modded to fit.

I read this a long time ago and didn't think it would be that noticable....wrong!

So, does anyone know which clark's crystal eurotimez is using?

So, with the gen insert in place and the retaining ring filed, what crystal should I get to reduce the height?

The clark's 25-295-c has a 2.5mm height.

The correct clarks for a sub 25-295-c2 has a 3.00 mm height.

Any input would be great!

thank so much in advance!

There is apparently no absolute answer to this, sorry to say.

In the gen. Sub the crystal is C2 (taller version). But be careful here, basically all aftermaket C2 gaskets have a different height despite they all declared C2. I have measured Clarks, Cousins etc...., they are all different in height.

you have to relaize the height of the crystal above the insert is determined by the height of the gasket, so this is the crucial factor. Thickness of the bezel ring is another factor. It is known that the Euromariner has the same bezel assemably contruction but not exactly 1:1 in size. So my guess is that you will never achieve the same crystal height above the insert as the gen. unless you swap out the whole assemably with gen. parts - retention ring, C2 gasket, bezel and insert. Then you will be happy.

my solution is to mill the insert, modeling it after that of the stock MBK one. I cut one in half literally and it has a different shape than the aftermarket ones or even gen. My guess is it'll snap in reccessed with enough space milled to fit around the retaining ring. at least this is my tedious plan of action for my current euromariner project.
