jimmytim Posted July 30, 2006 Report Share Posted July 30, 2006 Anyone has ever thought of the idea to use ultraviolet (black) cold cathods to charge up the dial's lume 24/7? I am thinking that it should be a good idea, since I don't reveal my watches to the sun during day, there is no charge to the dial to make them glow in the dark. Finepics Posted July 30, 2006 Report Share Posted July 30, 2006 The low frquency UV banknote checking lamps will do the job. Find them on the bay for around $40. But all you need is 30 secs under a desk lamp which does the same thing for free!! Remember that Super Luminova's glow is only very bright for the first few minutes - you then really need to be in a very dark room to see it after that, it will not glow brightly for hours and hours. jimmytim Posted July 31, 2006 Author Report Share Posted July 31, 2006 I use to mod computer case and had a uv light in the case. I used highlight pen to paint the pcbs and they really standout. Here is two photos I took back then: Funny enough I put that in my car and someone stepped on it and broke it in half. (Well, that was not meant to be put in the car anyway) So I'm left with two in the car and nothing for the computer. (Does that has anything to do with watches?)
