Just an hour ago, I received some money in USD. After the conversion, I calculated the exchange rate used by Paypal to be $1.45 to Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Maxim Posted March 5, 2009 Report Share Posted March 5, 2009 It's exactly what the post office/your bank do, unless you have a direct way of obtaining foreign currency and sending it without conversion, they are charging you for the exchange service. KB Posted March 5, 2009 Report Share Posted March 5, 2009 I used to cop this on two fronts, customers would pay me in usd then I had to covert to aud to bank it....zing one.....then it had to be converted back to usd to Western Union the money to my supplier....zing two Between Paypal and WU I was (counting WU fees) losing over 60 bucks a transaction. I even went as far as contacting both and telling them that their exchange rates were not even close to the current international rates, both said they used the very latest rates calculator and theirs was more accurate than anyones, when I said BS check XE.com right now I of course got no further replies. ken Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
