brian7836 Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 What is the purpose of the recessed button on the case at the 9 position ?
jfreeman420 Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 On the gen it is used to set the date on the rep it is non functional.
yodap Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 No, that's wrong, it's an inner gearing system, what allows you to rotate the inner bezel with the glass being fixed, it makes it more water resistant. Click on the "VIDEO" tab on the right of the picture, it clearly illustrates it's function: http://www.breitlingforbentley.com/en/mode...bentley-675_0-5 Hope this helps. Greetz.

rogerthat Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Yodap is correct on the gen on the rep it is for show, non-functional and one of the most obvious "tells"
jfreeman420 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I believe you are thinking of a Panerai You are correct in that I associated that function wth Panerai, however I assumed since Breitling uses the same 7750 based movement that function would be the same. You learn something new every day. The button seems a bit useless if you ask me. How many times do you have to push it to get it to spin all the way around? And I assume it only moves the bezel in one direction. I liked my idea of the button setting the date better. Either way on the rep it doesn't function. Yodap is correct on the gen on the rep it is for show, non-functional and one of the most obvious "tells" Not really an obvious tell IMO considering I have never had anyone walk up and attempt to push a button on any of my watches.

I think that would be grounds for an ass whipping. And a 7750 can be modified in a ton of different ways, so an extra button never necessarily does the same thing on two different watches.

No, you don't have to push the button, and the slide rule is bi-directional.
