The limits of the testing equipment is 10 ATM - my watch survived all the way. So owners and potential buyers who are curious might see this as a hint on what to possibly expect from their watch. Other MBW 1665 who have had their watches tested? Results?
lazarini Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Well these watches are constructed good still keep in mind its a REP watch and further more even the GEN ones leak from time to time... U always want to lube the gaskets and pressure test after that to assure WR. Keep away from warm baths and sauna that can penetrate the watch even if its WR. Just FYI, my last modded MBW 1665 GW that Tribal build passed the 20ATM! test with flying colors... regards LAZ
Cats Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Fully agree with Laz don't bath with it and keep it away from high temperature. My MWB1665 modded by the MM is tested at 10ATM and it past the test. The 1680 which is modded by Omega will be tested in the near future. Carpe Diem Cats
chubbchubb Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 One more thing to keep in mind is that manufacturing quality and QC in the rep world does not compare to gen manufacturers. This means that one waterproof DRSD does not neccessarily mean that all DRSD are as well - it just means that the general construction in theory is good enough. Your milage may vary... If you want peace of mind, have your individual watch tested.
