can someone answer me about the caseback?

Hi all,

Maybe this question has been answered before but seriously ive spend half an hour looking.

Can someone explain me about the blue ''officine panerai'' engraving on all see through caseback models?

Why is it so inacurate?

Does the pre-v models had these fat blue letters? (wrong font, wrong color ?)

Does it bother you?

It just screams fake to me and its the only thing preventing me from buying, but im a fan of those saphire casebacks.

Obviously, if i get a panerai, some people will have a look at it...

thanks

No, Pre-V watches didn't have that engraving on the movement. But then, Pre-V and Pre-A/A-D series watches had steel case backs, so you wouldn't be able to see it anyway.

Honestly, the finish of the movement is so far off from the gen SOPROD decorated Panerai movements that anyone who knows that the font is off, will know it is a rep, regardless.

If it bothers you that much, get an auto PAM or a Pre-A/A-D series manual with the solid case back.

There are close to the genuine blue letterings, you just need to look harder to locate them.

Pre-V models are closed-back casings - so no letterings.

Your concern should be more on the case, crown guards, crown levers if you are avoiding "screams of fake"....

More accurate a rep, the deeper your pocket will stay afloat....
