ShawnBeever
This shows the standard MBW insert with an Ofrie pearl. While it wont stand a direct side by side comparison with a gen. I would struggle justifying the cost of a gen for the small improvement.
20Babies
Thanks, bro. BTW, did you mod the lug hole on the case? I am wondering how bid the dimeter of the hole should be? Thanks This shows the standard MBW insert with an Ofrie pearl. While it wont stand a direct side by side comparison with a gen. Thanks size 55 cobalt drill bit is what you need.... but be VERY careful as it's an incredibly easy way to screw up your watch.
20Babies
Thanks, Bro. I was looking for a good lume dot and came across Yukiwatch's version. Not sure if it is better than Ofrei's.. Has anyone bought from Yuki? http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/Sea-Dweller-Submari...A1%7C240%3A1318 size 55 cobalt drill bit is what you need.... but be VERY careful as it's an incredibly easy way to screw up your watch. Cats
Judging on the pictures that Yuki shows on his internet page there is no lume at all in the pearl. You can add the lume afterwards but htat would make as expensive as a gen insert with a pearl. This one , and it's a gen , cost me 85 euro's and is a hell of an improvement compared to a MBW if yo ask me. By the wat the dial sucks big time of the "newest" MBW ( assuming this is a MBW as it was sold to me by a collector ) ( the reluming with C1 and C3 was doen on my request , not quit what you would expect on a vintage dial ) Carpe Diem Cats
CarPlus
Hi Bros, I have bought with Yuki before. I got the 5513 case w/bezel , lum dot. It looks 95% gen. The shape looks so great. What the most amazing is the serial no, prefect engraving!! Also Yuki provide custom engraving for the no. I gave the no. to Yuki, I got my no. now!!! Star69
call my crazy - but this looks as good/bad as MBW 2 me : 5512 you have to completely overwork the case - same as on an MBW. you need a new plexi - you get them in all kind of shapes and sizes - no need for the real deal. pop out the ugly pearl and bleach the insert ... and bingo .. alot of $$ saved MBWs are nice - other cases maybe nicer ... some put even gen movements in them ... you still don't have a gen if you want to spent more than 300$ - get the gen ... 14060, older 5513 or a nice Tudor - they all relatively cheap at the moment. cheers, Frank
Dutch
Interesting how this works out. I really would like to have a 5513 or 5512 as well.
Marble
Yukiwatch is a good find. Anyone bought from them? I am planning to do a 5513 too. Last week I bought a 1680 from him. I'll take some pics when it arrives.
ShawnBeever
Here is another option, Chris has started selling old MBW 5513 cases on their own for $165 this and a $65 dial and you have all the usable MBW parts. http://www.eurotimez88.com/product_info.ph...9e11b5ff73ded2f
