Kiterpete
Going on a cruise in a month need a watch for the Tux - I know both of these are at the lower end of the food chain price wise but who prefers what. http://www.timeshops.net/GL5503_-_Glashutt...g_1918-2922.htm http://www.watcheden.com/iwc-portugieser-w...-19764-p-1.html I have a couple of black face watches that might do the trick but the SS/white appeals to me. I know neither are autos but it's just gotta look good (I mean classy) under the French Cuff shirt. And if someone jumps in and says, "nice watch you got there" that would add to the pleasure. Member X
Personally I much prefer the IWC, but that's because I've been hankering after one for a while lol Will the blue go with what you plan to wear though? The Glashutte may be the better, more coordinated choice in that respect, and might also be less well known and therefore less likely to be called out. All in my humble n00b opinion though lol EDIT: How about these ones? http://www.timeshops.net/IWC8853_-_IWC_Big...g_2483-2914.htm http://www.timeshops.net/IWC4065_-_IWC_POR...ph_1905-361.htm I may be shopping for myself now... lol Edited April 23, 2009 by Member X
Kiterpete
Good point on the 'called out' probably wont get the 'that's a fake' on the Glashutte (seeing how the IWC is a quartz) from the Ships Jewelry Store. Last time I wore my my Gen Breitling on a cruise someone asked me "is that a real Breitling' I said "no I have the real one in my pocket, this one's a fake' - I thought my comment was hilarious however it went without comment. Dang watch humor gets them every time........
Maxim
Or you could get a nice IWC Spitfire Chrono...
bonecollector
That Glashutte is a timeless, classic design. That watch would look great with a tux in 1940 or 2040. Not that the IWC would look bad, but the Glashutte is simply made for formal wear.

b16a2
In genuine form, the IWC winsa hands down for me. It is the grail of all grails. However, the replica you have linked to isn't the best, and I think you would be left disappointed. The more expensive 7750 basec Portuguese has reliability issues, so by process of elimination I would choose the GO. I really like mine, and for the money I put it on a pedastal. ThinkBachs
Here, make it easy on those that want to participate! tough choice, but for versatility, I'd have to go with the IWC
