billy_bunter
Hello all This is my first Rep build, and it's probably wildly inaccurate but please forgive me! It's an attempt at a 117 (essentially an 056 with open caseback) on a custom antique leather strap. The colour of the dial is way too light as far as I can tell, and the green lume is wrong but not as bad as the pictures! I'm pretty pleased with it. It's a Davidsen Ultimate 056 dial and hands with an asian 6497 swan-neck (thanks AmStaff!) and the case is a cheapo SS from m*litarytime - I am waiting for a Ti one to become available from a user here. The crown guard had to be reshaped to sit flat on the case, and thinned out to not stick up when moved to the "destro" way round Enjoy the (camera phone) pictures! Sorry about the quality
RWG Technical
It looks great. We all have to start somewhere, the fact you took on the challenge and in the process learned some important skills is great. A new dial or having this one lumed would probably make a world of difference, I was never a fan of the too green dials... Well done. RG
dluddy
Looking good so far. Are the hands Blue or is that a reflection? Seems like you know what to do to make it accurate but enjoy your work while the hunt continues for the parts...

RG I second that Mr WD ...it's a ridiculously good first watch - I think I broke 3 or 4 before I could get to this stage. Right on the re-lume front - the green is scary and WatchDog is your man for that sort of work...period! There's no good tobacco brown dial out there at the moment but one day soon ...you never know Have fun along the way.. FGD
billy_bunter
Thanks all for your kind replies! i'm going to experiment with a few things to try to get the dial darker but I'm not really sure where to start - then a re-lume may be on the cards. Cheers

projectologist
I agree with all of the responses. We can certainly appreciate the effort as well as the results. And keep an eye on FGD... there's a little hint in his last sentence (at least I hope that's what it is).
