2005SUBMARINER Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 hey guys i have an eta sub 2836 that gains about 1 minute per week i dont know if thats normal , but i wana try to get it as accurate as posible how many notches should i adjust the - side on the regulator to get it just right ? thanx guys take care & be well ..
Rolexman Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Fine regulation won't help.... you need to adjust the lever. It works pretty much the same as regulating the new Asian 7750. Click here for info.
2005SUBMARINER Posted August 9, 2006 Author Report Posted August 9, 2006 thanx guys i think ill let the watch run te fast minute .. i dont think im ready to tinker with that weird looking lever . might throw everything off
Rikske Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 One minute a week is 8.6 sec a day and the Etachron fine regulator of an ETA 2836 will handle such a correction without problem. Start with 1.5 notches towards the minus sign. The picture of Rolexman is not from an 2836 and has no Etachron regulator. I would say : give it a try and keep us informed. Here is a picture of the 2836 , good luck.

Rolexman Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 right..... 1 min a week, I thought 1 min a day!? For fine regulation look at my signature.
2005SUBMARINER Posted August 24, 2006 Author Report Posted August 24, 2006 so i wateed 1 week to see how many seconds my eta 2836 sub gains & she came in at about 10sec + per day . so i opened up the watch & with a 1mm screw driver kick back 2 notches on the regulator screw cross my fingers & hope this would get her back on track ! thanx every one for your help !
lionsandtigers Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 how exactly do you figure out if you're gaining or losing seconds? do you match it to a digital clock? would love to know
2005SUBMARINER Posted August 24, 2006 Author Report Posted August 24, 2006 how exactly do you figure out if you're gaining or losing seconds? do you match it to a digital clock? would love to know what i did was pulled out the stem to stop the seconds hands on the 12 & waited to the time on my digital cable box change & then i pushed it back in & monitor the seconds with the digital cable box .. i hope this is a good method .
