Recommended Posts

Long story short I finished a few projects using Tritec GL black lume and radiomir black pvd cases. I think they came out pretty good. Already sold one. I'm looking forward to making a few more in the coming weekends.

Let me know what you guys think.

New mod phrase? These watches have been PARALIZED!!!!

WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR....LUME SHOTS

Started out with a clean workspace, later added two rubber pound boards just to not scratch the desk:

started out with a rad case with asian 6497 with no second hand:

Ordered some dials from military time, split open the sandwich dial. These have no lume, just resin.

IMG_3058.JPG

stripped the old paint with some soft sand paper and repainted it with matte black paint. a few coats and it was looking real nice. here's a pic from painting

Time to strip the hands. used some paint thinner on a q-tip and then rubbed the rest off with a toothpick. (ajoe B&R with kent parks lume work on nato)

not quite stripped yet

Mixed up some Tri-tec GL black lume with the clear varnish from tri-tec as well. started with the hands and moved on to the dial:

finished dial, mounted with hands:

Mounted it without the second hand (fell on the carpet and lost forever):

Took a second go at it a day later and came up with a much better product. matte clear coat on the dial does wonders for texture. looks awesome

i really like it, stealthy looking! hows the lume duration?

8 hours and it was still glowing the other night. Fades a little faster than normal stuff we see from vac and others

Very informative topic, thanks paralizer.

Is it easy to make the pigment? Standard portions specified by Tritec?

Cheers,

Athan

No instructions from tritec, had to kind of guess the first watch. second one turned out better. when in doubt, use more lume powder and less binder
