New to this interesting forum

Recommended Posts

My browsing took me to this interesting forum. Just by looking around I'm confident that I'll end up buying a high quality rep addition to my gen collection.

My obsession includes:

Breitling Seawolf Avenger,

Solid 18k Bulova on Bracelet Swiss Valjoux 7750 Chrono, one of 60 made

Bertolucci 300m Diver on bracelet 18k/ss,

Armand Nicolet MO2 Big Date Chrono, on SS bracelet, my favourate

Armand Nicolet Hunter Chrono

Armand Nicolet Sloop Royal,

Bulova Accutron Swiss Gemini Chrono Valjoux 7750, IMO one of the best gen values out there

Omega Seamaster 18k/ss,

Enzo Mechana Diver Sub

and even a Timex Ironman Quartz in case I want to keep perfect time

Just another of many watchaholics I guess. My wife thinks enough is enough already!

(But then she has

solid 18k Bertolucci VIR w diamonds on bracelet,

Matching version of my Omega Seamaster 18k/ss,

Bertolucci 18k/ss for daily wear and

2 antique Bulova's one solid 10k and the other solid silver.

So why buy a rep? The only thing that catches my eye is the Deep Sea Dweller rolex from watchmaker9. I know nothing about reps is that the best quality out there?

Welcome aboard on the only board that unites both gen and rep owners :). Seems like a very nice collection!

The best advice would be to start reading watch reviews and dealer experiences of buyers. Most of the dealers carry the same collection of watches, but there's a lot of difference in QC and after sales.

Enjoy!

Welcome to RWG's community.

There are a lot of members collecting both gens and reps indeed here.

Reps can be a great testing stage before getting the gen, and higly modded reps (specialy Rolex) can be a wonderfull way to wear watches that are totaly out of budget like Double red, 1655 or Great White

In all cases, you've reached the best place possible to answer your question: "So why buy a rep?".

Sure, if you use the search you'll find tons of information...but do not hesitate to ask :D

All the best,

Stephane
