Changing strap on a Santos

I've ordered a custom strap for my Santos 100 Chrono rep, and I was hoping someone out there has experience changing the strap out -

It's not obvious if it's a screw or a press fit pin with a swedged end - do I unscrew it or drive it out from the small end with a micro drift?

If you've done this, let me know, otherwise I guess I'll just fiddle with it until I figure something out -

Have you managed to change the strap? I have to do the same but ran into the same problem....

Hi,

this is difficult! You have to either pull the pins out at the side with a small tweezer or push them in. Pushing them into the old strap is easier then pulling them out,. This gets the strap off and then you can try getting the pins out, which s easier then the other way around! This is how did it! Of course you risk not getting them out, but will you want to use/sell the old strap?

As the dutchman said - You can use a paper clip to push them in. Then remove the strap and push them out from the removed strap.

now that we know how to change the strap, I'm also keen to learn where you've ordered the custom strap and how you knew which size to go for...

Both HK Tan and Anthony know what size you need when you order. I don't remember where I found Anthony, but he was $70 as compared to $110 for a croco-grain calf strap on my Santos 100.
