Winding PAMs with lever locked or unlocked

Good point on winding from the back. I was just wondering becasue we all put the time and effort into fixing the floppy lever and by opening the lever every day it is just a matter of time it will become loose again. With the lever closed I was not sure if it applied to much pressure on the crown and stem.

Thanks

I always wind with the lever open, and from the back to avoid rubbing/scuffing the top of the CG.

Just personal pref...

Yeah... I always wind from the back these days... Got tired of seeing the CG and portion of the bezel getting rub marks :)

As for the lever- My theory is that winding with the lever closed will eventually wear material away from the crown and/or lever, thus resulting in less compression of the crown when the lever is closed. Not sure how much winding in the closed position it would take for this to actually happen, but manual winding every day/every other day for a frequently worn watch may become problematic sooner or later if wear does take place...
