  1. So 1) You were NOT SURE if you would like the bag but then asks "Please ship the bags a.s.a.p to me!". 2) You received the bag and surprise surprise a replica bag is not exactly like the one in the store but it's the exact same bag on the pics that Ken sent you. WOW, who would have guessed? 3) You send a PM to Ken on 08/08 complaining that the bag that match the pictures exactly and you were not sure does not meet you high standards 4) On 08/13 you decided to start this thread (mind you AFTER Ken said he had to shut down as his rep in China had a medical emergency) 5) No matter how much reassurance you received here you still went ahead and decided to start a PP dispute that could get Ken PP account locked, affecting everyone that wants to do business with him 5A) Now this is the funny part, you complained that Ken did not answer your "BUYERS REMORSE" PMs in a manner that you thought would be timely, but it's OK for you to cut communication because "I was away for a few days!". I'd say that's the icing on the cake. This case seems very simple. You wanted to pay a couple of hundred dollars for a $1500 bag and somehow got disappointed (I wonder if you ever saw the actual bag at that Prada store before even contacting Ken). Ken accommodated all your requests getting his rep to go and take a picture of the bag in normal daylight (which btw look exactly like I'd expect a Saffiano Prada bag to look like). Now you want to file a dispute to get your money back and screw Ken. To me that's a scammer. You entered in an agreement and now you unilaterally want to back out of it (even after Ken gave you a $50 undeserved credit because he's a nice guy). You can try to massage the truth here but honestly you should own this. Everybody has buyers remorse eventually. Real men know how to own it.

  2. What is this I don't even... I don't understand what the OP's point was. When I make a thread on RWG, it is usually a "Guys, what should I do about this" followed by a number of responses, followed by me usually taking said advice. This was like a setup or a troll or something. Bizarre.

  4. Dude, you are a [censored] douchebag. Sorry for being blunt, but it had to be said. Its because of impatient people like you that the rest of us have issues being able to use PayPal for our purchases. KB is one of the most upstanding members of this forum, and you file a PayPal dispute because you don't get a reply for a few days? Contrary to what you may think, people have a life and won't get back to you instantaneously. And stop whining about feeling you were scammed, you were not. You were sent photos and got exactly what was shown in the photos. Pictures look different from the actual product, even for an authentic company's product. Go ahead and look on the Louis Vuitton or Prada site and see the photos they show there. You would be complaining that the product you recieved from them didn't look exactly like in the photos.

  5. Nils what you keep stepping around here is that there is nothing wrong with the bag, the genuine is shiny you simply did not check it out enough before purchase, that is your fault not mine. If you had purchased a Pepsi Rolex from a watch dealer and then complained the blue or red on the bezel was not the shade you like do you think you would have a valid claim if the dealers colour were correct with gen? 6. My favorite artist is Fred Machetanz. His best work is, IMO, "Face to face" a painting of a polar bear on an ice floe (see my avatar). I love that piece but the prints on paper (not giclee) go for around $3,000 if you can find one. So I commissioned one from a company that specializes in that. I had it done in oils on canvas and the end result is absolutely superb. Total price with shipping was under $300.

  7. First you post with the implication you're looking for honest opinions about the tropical dial: "Any real help would be greatly appreciated." Then this weird comment: "What a cool way to learn about the forum, its members and the level of knowledge they hold." I don't know if you're being evasive or snarky. Certainly in retrospect it was sarcastic at best. Then the ringer. After many people took the time to carefully evaluate your photos and offer their expert opinion, you come back with: "So far these are all opinions. Easy to say its real or its fake but please back up your reasons if you an expert to call it. IF the color is wrong then can you explain why you know that. A poor picture of a watch dial inside a busted crystal hardly is any help." What? You asked for opinions and now you chastise people for their opinions? Do you think these good people owe you an explanation behind their reasoning? And for the capper: "To say the color is wrong and to not explain why when the color change is due to a paint defect that can be sped up or slowed down by outside sources is a very gutsy call without knowing the history of the dial." So now you finally admit you really do know all about the dial, its paint characteristics, and how and why it faded. So you were lying or misleading us in your first posts. Then you berated the members for offering their opinions, after you asked for opinions. This is not how we operate here on RWG. This fails the smell test about a dozen different ways. If you're looking for opinions, fine. Accept them. If you're trying to show us your amazing knowledge, save it. There are people here that have forgotten more than you've ever learned about vintage Rolex. And if you're trying to impress us with rare vintage pieces, you're wasting your time. People here have more ultra-rare vintages than you can imagine. I suggest you think REAL hard about why you're here, and your approach to RWG. You don't even realize it but you've been extended the courtesy of the benefit of the doubt by quite a few absolute experts here, solely because they're gentlemen. That courtesy is not unlimited. A wise man once said "speak softly and carry a big stick." That's good advice for you to follow.

  8. Nothing is new, the customs agents have so much else to worry about besides a watch that may or may not be real. Drugs, terrorism, fake cash, fraud, and other illegal items all come first so when a parcel gets stopped its usually because they don't believe the value listed at "30$ gift" like the rep company's like to mark down.. worst case imo is they try to get the receiver to pay what they feel is the proper duties. It is extremely rare. No more chance of it happening now than it did in years past. And I don't believe these raid Bs stories for a second. Somebody out there wasn't getting paid. That's it. They are basically causing these problems to themselves. Pay the piper and the raids stop. That's my 2 cents. These company's like Rolex or whoever have no power to do anything they can make lawsuits all day long its a joke. China will do as they please. I can't answer your other question because I'm not a lawer but I would have to assume that buying a rep can't get you personally into trouble unless you are bringing them in by the barrel.

  10. I meant the thickness top to bottom not side to side for the lugs. The slightly thicker case shape was really noticeable when I put the v3 bracelet on. Maybe my case is just made wrong and that's why it looks like it does. On a side note I like your builds Fidhle, really inspiring...

  11. Dani, your best bet currently is a TC sub or a BK sub. Both offerings are quite accurate to the real thing and both can be modded to accept genuine parts. Just search through the various threads to find reviews of either dealer and I am sure you will find what you need. Good luck. There is no greater reward than a genuine Rolex rep after a hard summer's work.

  12. If it consistently resets at the same wrong position, you will need to remove & reinstall the hand. If it resets at different places, then the hand wand is likely loose on its tube. You need to tighten (with a staking set) or epoxy the joint together There are MANY threads discussing this issue that you should search out.

  15. I own, and have owned a lot of watches over the years. Why did I by them? Well, mainly because I love watches, and obviously my taste in watches change pretty often. One of the nice things about genuine watches, they are genuine! No pretense, no sneaking around, no "can I wear this watch today, because it's a rep, and someone may recognize it as a rep, I would be very embarressed if I were called out" I really don't worry about all that, I wear my reps everywhere I wear my genuine watches. Another thing, there are a lot more venues for selling genuine watches. Selling reps are limited to the rep websites, unless you are trying to scam folks on Ebay!! I love them all, Reps and genuine. I started out with genuine way back in the late 1960's and I have never been without a genuine. In fact,I don't believe that I have ever been without a genuine Rolex, since about 1967. At present, my list of genuines is: Rolex 16610 "P" serial Rolex 16750 GMT Tudor 9411/0 Blue Dial "Snowflake" MKII Kingston Non Date gilt dial MKII Kingston Date Gilt dial Ocean 7 LM5 GMT Ocean 7 LM 7 ploprof IWC 14k calatrava Doxa "pre sub" Dive watch Doxa 1200T Professional (for sale) Seiko Tuna 600m Seiko Tuna 1000m My genuine collection waxes and wanes depending on my watch needs at the time. i just sold a very nice 85 year Omega Speedmaster Professional. it was getting absolutely no wrist time, and I needed to move it for something else. The something else appeared on WUS and TZ a day later, a Maurice Lacroix Calendre Retrograde, a watch I have been looking for for a long time. My collection is very heavily weighed toward sports /tool watches, and i need something that is a little dressier. If you are looking for day/dates i.e "President", keep your eye out on the Vintage Rolex Market, I see them on there regularly. not frequently, but regularly. i would also check out places in major cities like Houston or Dallas. the "President " series were very popular wirth oil people, especially back in the 80's and early 90's. We had a Rolex AD here in our small town back before the oil bust of 1983-86. The owner told me that the 18k "President was her best seller. She told me that one oil man came in reight before Christmas and ordered 24 Presidents to give as Christmas presents to customers. Now that's a Santa Claus!!
