  1. Please excuse me for my strong language but I'm getting a little bit fed up with all the noobs lately. No, not because they are new and ask questions... Because they show NO courtesy. Off course I don't want to treat all noobs alike but l get the feeling it is getting worse. I (or other existing members) type, a sometimes extensive reply or explanation and not even a 'thanks' or 'thank you' will follow. Nothing..... The noob just asks questions like a mad man, want to gather all the info yesterday, wants to buy a rep like he is at WalMart, complains and bitches about the smallest details, asks mechanical help when in most cases he himself messes up a movement etc. without even the smallest regard for this board and it's members. And sometimes.... From all these noobs a valuable new member will arise who's soul purpose is not to leech this board and all it's members for what they know and have. I have seen some valuable new members the last months like MD2020 for instance and for that I applaud! And for all you other blood sucking noobs: think about the existing members that reply to you post. Without some courtesy and good manners you probably won't get any help next time you are in need.....

  2. Hope you feel better soon. My wife has it (the flu!!) as well. She had a friend visiting from Europe over the holidays, and she arrived sick, recovering from the flu as well. I got a flu shot at the hospital where I practice, so, knock on wood, so far I'm OK. good advice, my grandfather put it a lot more bluntly. "Son, keep your mouth shut and your ears open, and maybe you'll learn something" Now to the subject. What i see are a generation, or maybe two that have this sense of entitlement that defies reason. i see young folks entering the work force with the idea that regular tasks are beneath their dignity, they think that they should transition from training into a management position immediately. No matter where they think they should be position wise, none of them are willing to take responsibility for their actions. If something bad happens, it's always someone else's fault!! Another thing, which I find especially distressing is the lack of common courtesy. I live in the deep south, where in the past, folks have been polite to a fault. Not anymore. the level of insolence and discourteous behavior is appalling. they are like this in their everyday life, why should they be any different here on the forum? If you never say please or thank you, open a door for and elderly lady, scoff at everyone older than you, you will not change your behavior just because you are here. I will be more than happy to share my meager knowledge base with anyone here, but if I'm not acknowledged, or at least thanked for my time and effort, I can promise you my memory is long, and my forgiveness will not be forthcoming for a long, long time. I have seen in the past few months a huge influx of new members, some are great folks and a true asset to the forum, but unfortunately, there is a big segment who I really don't believe have any true interest in watches or reps in general. I believe that this segment of the population is here for one reason and one reason only, milk the knowledge cow dry, and then use that to buy a couple of watches and then, poof they are gone!!

  3. this is definitely very reassuring to know that experts here find the asian movements reliable. It is definitely cheaper to buy Asian movement reps.... so for me thats a huge consideration, as budget and funds are very limited. Thanks again to all the experts.

  6. Once upon a time, earlier this year, I fell victim to the alluring concept of the replica watch. By simply typing the words "replica watch" on google, many sites came up, but none of the reputable ones you will find in this forum. Instead, you will be plagued by the biggest ripoff scam websites on the internet. I have discovered the largest watch ripoff umbrella on the internet. The group of internet based companies have the same swiss upgrade gimmick and are based primarily out of New York. If you buy from one of the following sites, you WILL be ripped off!! I almost fell victim to one of these rip off sites and thank god I found a reputable rep forum that saved me. Here is what I know: - The dealer will convince you to do C.O.D or Wire Transfer. - If you are out of the USA, they will say that due to security and fraud that credit card orders will not be accepted. They will convince you to do a money wire since that is the next safest method since you will have their business bank account information. Little do you know that the info provided is not actually a bank account!! It is a routing number where your funds are redirected several times until it ends up in a pre-paid debit/credit card company. The money enters the fraudster's prepaid debit/credit card where the funds are withdrawn immediately. These pre-paid accounts are set up all over the United States and are extremely hard to track. There are many aliases and phone numbers that these scammers use. They don't really have a base of operations and work off pre-paid cell phone numbers. They have set up a fake rep review site called http://www.fakereviews.com and http://www.replicainspector.com. The pictures used on these sites are of actual gen watches!! Not the watch(es) you may or may not receive. How do I know so much? I almost fell victim and actually wired funds to bluefakes. Luckily I have very powerful friends in the banking industry. With thorough investigation and persistance, I tracked to where the funds ended up. I not only got my money back, but ended up freezing several of their accounts and money returned back to other victims. Here is the list of the companies: GLOBAL REPLICA Additional Business Names: A Fine Luxury Time AFineLuxuryTime.com Allfakes Betterswiss BlueFakes Fullswiss Go Replicas Italian Fakes Jewelers Laststopwatch Limited Watch My Swiss Replica MySwissReplica.com New Replica Newwatch4u Nextswiss Nyswiss OnTimeFakes Precise Knock Offs Ravereplicas Redhotwatch Replicaceo Reproduccion Global Showtimereplicawatches Sizzlefakes SwissFreeze Zenithmotor I am really sorry that it took so long to compile this. I read about a victim on repgeek and got really angry. I really wanted to put the past behind me but something has to be done. I hope I am not too late to try and help others. These are only the companies that I know of under the same group. There potentially can be more. I have put together this information in hope that other people do not fall victim to these petty thugs. Jawo

  7. For those of you that have been following along, I started a 1665 Sea-Dweller project some 12 months ago (give or take). The project wasn’t exactly planned or really intended, per se; rather, a really good deal on a nice gen dial had fallen into my lap and the project kind-of-sort-of took shape from there. Because the project had more or less found me (instead of me seeking out the project as these things usually occur), I spent a lot of time contemplating whether I really wanted to see this one to completion. I accumulated some bits and pieces here and there, but I almost cut my holdings loose a few times in favor of other projects. It wasn’t until a friend of mine had mentioned that he was building the same project that I actually committed- I agreed to help procure a case set for his project which would be ordered along with my own. That was 9 months ago. My friend is a very patient individual as it wasn’t until the end of August that I finally got off my ass to get the last few remaining parts (case, movement and bracelet). Well, I figure I’ve been slacking long enough on this one and it was finally time to knock it out. The build list- -Genuine 1665 white font dial -Genuine 1570 hands -Genuine caliber 1570 -Genuine 25-39 -Genuine 24-702 -Genuine 24-7020 -Genuine lumi insert -Phong 1665 case -Genuine 23-12200 spring bars -Genuine 93150 bracelet w/580 ends Still have a few small things to adjust, but for the most part it’s finally together… Thanks to all for keeping me motivated! Cheers and best, //ubi

  8. After 7 years of running a sales section straight off the forum Bergies is branching out with our own website. I and my sales rep are currently uploading goods to the site and hope to go live before the end of the Month. Inevitably there will be changes in the way we operate, the biggest being that you the customer will be buying directly from the site which means most sales will be processed with no interaction with myself or Cathy. I will always remain available to answer questions, where needed, but my aim is to try and cut down on the many hours spent answering emails. Part of the reason for this switch to website is that Cathy needs to move out of Gaungzhou to look after her young family and as Cathy has been doing all the QC pic's I'm afraid this will come to an end. All items on the site have quality photo's and all goods will be hand checked before they ship, the exact same way the business ran for the first 6 years in fact. Bergies (not the name we will be using) will still put their customers concerns first and endeavour to make sure every customer has a happy experience. It is our aim to develop the site to the point of being a one stop, professional store for all your soft good requirements and as such we see this as a big step forward for both us and you the customer. Thank you Ken

  10. I think the problem is more extensive than Reps/Noobs/ RWG, etc. The world seems to be getting less civilized in terms of everyday manners. I don't know exactly why, I think the explosion of Facebook & all the gadgets people have may be part of it. I thought because I live in NYC it was mostly a geographic thing- many high powered dicks here- but I think its more widespread. Too many self absorbed, self-entitled a-holes running around. I have to admit sometimes I get swept up too.

  11. This is a fair point well made by the Rolexman. A community such as this is surely defined, and ever growing through giving knowledge and time, otherwise this wonderful source wouldn't exist. You can only hope these dudes give some value back in the future, and quickly begin to understand what RWG and similar communities are all about. Plus learn some common courtesies and simple manners! Take heed!

  12. " Met a man that worked at the bank this morning and caught a glimpse of a beautiful 1665 on his wrist so I sparked up a convo. Guy was super nice but didn't know [censored] about the incredible watch he had on. Said he just recently got it. Told him I'd buy it off him (yea right, thought maybe he didn't know what he had). Anyway I told him some tricks to getting some scratches out of the crystal and made sure he didn't let rolex swap out any parts on the next service. Really, I wanted to grab it and run :)" This is a stickup keep the money hand over the Rolex. How an RWG member robs a bank!

  13. "The prohibition is general. No clause in the Constitution could by any rule of construction be conceived to give to Congress a power to disarm the people. Such a flagitious attempt could only be made under some general pretense by a state legislature. But if in any blind pursuit of inordinate power, either should attempt it, this amendment may be appealed to as a restraint on both." [William Rawle, A View of the Constitution 125-6 (2nd ed. 1829)

  14. "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States" (Noah Webster in 'An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution', 1787, a pamphlet aimed at swaying Pennsylvania toward ratification, in Paul Ford, ed., Pamphlets on the Constitution of the United States, at 56(New York, 1888)) "...if raised, whether they could subdue a Nation of freemen, who know how to prize liberty, and who have arms in their hands?" (Delegate Sedgwick, during the Massachusetts Convention, rhetorically asking if an oppressive standing army could prevail, Johnathan Elliot, ed., Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution, Vol.2 at 97 (2d ed., 1888)) "...but if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights..." (Alexander Hamilton speaking of standing armies in Federalist 29.)

  15. The Federalist #46 The only refuge left for those who prophesy the downfall of the State governments is the visionary supposition that the federal government may previously accumulate a military force for the projects of ambition. The reasonings contained in these papers must have been employed to little purpose indeed, if it could be necessary now to disprove the reality of this danger. That the people and the States should, for a sufficient period of time, elect an uninterupted succession of men ready to betray both; that the traitors should, throughout this period, uniformly and systematically pursue some fixed plan for the extension of the military establishment; that the governments and the people of the States should silently and patiently behold the gathering storm, and continue to supply the materials, until it should be prepared to burst on their own heads, must appear to every one more like the incoherent dreams of a delirious jealousy, or the misjudged exaggerations of a counterfeit zeal, than like the sober apprehensions of genuine patriotism. Extravagant as the supposition is, let it however be made. Let a regular army, fully equal to the resources of the country, be formed; and let it be entirely at the devotion of the federal government; still it would not be going too far to say, that the State governments, with the people on their side, would be able to repel the danger. The highest number to which, according to the best computation, a standing army can be carried in any country, does not exceed one hundredth part of the whole number of souls; or one twenty-fifth part of the number able to bear arms. This proportion would not yield, in the United States, an army of more than twenty-five or thirty thousand men. To these would be opposed a militia amounting to near half a million of citizens with arms in their hands, officered by men chosen from among themselves, fighting for their common liberties, and united and conducted by governments possessing their affections and confidence. It may well be doubted, whether a militia thus circumstanced could ever be conquered by such a proportion of regular troops. Those who are best acquainted with the last successful resistance of this country against the British arms, will be most inclined to deny the possibility of it. Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of. Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. And it is not certain, that with this aid alone they would not be able to shake off their yokes. But were the people to possess the additional advantages of local governments chosen by themselves, who could collect the national will and direct the national force, and of officers appointed out of the militia, by these governments, and attached both to them and to the militia, it may be affirmed with the greatest assurance, that the throne of every tyranny in Europe would be speedily overturned in spite of the legions which surround it. Let us not insult the free and gallant citizens of America with the suspicion, that they would be less able to defend the rights of which they would be in actual possession, than the debased subjects of arbitrary power would be to rescue theirs from the hands of their oppressors. Let us rather no longer insult them with the supposition that they can ever reduce themselves to the necessity of making the experiment, by a blind and tame submission to the long train of insidious measures which must precede and produce it. http://www.constitution.org/fed/federa46.htm

  16. One other thought.....throw a couple of watches on your wrist (that you already own) and snap pics of your self. That gives yu the best sense whether you like the look of a larger watch on you. Remember, that even when someone gors to the trouble to tell you height and weight it still is difficult to relate to you. The funny thing I have found is that no watch looks truly too small when looking at a larger picture of yourself. The real question is what do you think looks silly when you go big. And only you know whether you care whether it fis under a shirt sleeve or overhangs your wrist.

  17. What everyone keeps missing about the crime rate in America is that with all the gun sales, it is dropping like a rock. The press is breeding hysteria and people are falling for it. Homicide rates have dropped steadily in U.S. By Neely Tucker,December 19, 2012 "The national homicide rate for 2011 was 4.8 per 100,000 citizens — less than half of what it was in the early years of the Great Depression, when it peaked before falling precipitously before World War II. The peak in modern times of 10.2 was in 1980, as recorded by national criminal statistics. “We’re at as low a place as we’ve been in the past 100 years,” says Randolph Roth, professor of history at Ohio State University and author of this year’s “American Homicide,” a landmark study of the history of killing in the United States. “The rate oscillates between about 5 and 9 [per 100,000], sometimes a little higher or lower, and we’re right at the bottom end of that oscillation.” Last year’s rate was the lowest of any year since 1963, when the rate was 4.6, according to the Uniform Crime Reports compiled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Don’t relax quite yet: Americans still kill one another at a much higher rate than do citizens of other wealthy nations. “By international standards, we never really get to ‘low,’ ” Roth says. And, no matter what your favorite politician says about gun control or the lack of it, the homicide rate has been near stagnant or falling for 21 consecutive years" http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2012-12-19/lifestyle/35929227_1_homicide-rate-randolph-roth-gun-control Let's stick to facts not media induced hysteria. Do you anti-gunners think that the politicians should have armed guards while the rest of the population is unarmed?

  18. It is not a police state from your view it is in mine. Yes they do kill people very innocent and very bad ones. I choose the level of risk and ability to protect myself I am comfortable with you choose yours. Obviously you are risk averse and are willing to let the state handle your risk, I prefer to micro manage my risk.

  19. You forgot the all important comma. Because a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, (comma) It means because a militia is necessary, the right of the people to be armed and act a as a check and balance to the government shall not be infringed.

  20. I dunno, I've built a lot of frankens using gen dials and crystals and to me the issue falls squarely at the feet of the DWO printing alone. Somewhere along the line, the printing on these has gotten skewed. From about 16 - 6 the numbers get progressively printed toward the inside edge with 25 being the closest. I have 4 overlays in my spare parts bin right now that I can't use because of this. From left to right, they are CubicWorks white, CW champagne, cartel silver already mounted on ETA datewheel, JMB decal applied to brushed back of DWO, and an unknown source. You can clearly see the larger space between the JMB 25 and the rest of them with the cartel being slightly better than the rest. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. JMB's is the ONLY one of these that totally lines up correctly with the window every day of the month without finagling. The Cartel is o.k. Only a slight nuisance during certain days, but no dates touch the window edge. Same thing with the last one, but the numbers are too small for my taste. I realize that only two of them are flat top 3 / open 6 and 9, but they are vintage style and do illustrate my point.

  25. Tudor HERITAGE CHRONOGRAPH-70330N -BLACK DIAL I've lusted after this one for nearly a year now. I've passed on a few used ones that I've seen for sale on TRF and elsewhere in this time, but couldn't pass this one up. I've been looking for this black dial version and not the grey dial (grey is closer to the vintage model, but black is sharper yet retro and more contemporary IMO). I love the size and feel of it, just perfect with 42mm case being the sweet spot for my 7.5 inch wrist. This one came originally from an AD in Canada, but only a month old with dated warranty card from April 2012. Lucky for me some crazy Canadian didn't like it so traded it in with a TRF dealer in Orlando (DavidSW), and so I get a brand new Tudor Heritage at a used price. I'll let the pics tell the rest. Dealer's pic of the clasp (couldn't get a good one myself). Love the design of it and how it resembles the Tudor emblem. Incredible AR on this one. Lume shot! Completely stoked about this one. You have to see it in the flesh to truly appreciate it. Thank you for letting me share.
