I don't know if anyone remembers the ultra-limited run of virtually accurate solid gold 18k FM Casablancas...I believe only 10-25 are/were in existence. I say virtually, but I think not even FM afficionado & expert, Archibald, could tell the difference! Definitely weightier than regular SS steel.. confirmed decorated (FM rotor) Swiss ETA 2892.. I probably replaced the (already great) strap with a better one that suits the colour, but I can't remember for sure. This was mightily expensive back then... and gold prices have risen a lot since then... and impossible to find. I really don't know what I was thinking back then, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for something so accurate, although I think I have a gen Casablanca dial somewhere in any case Rarely worn, as I'm not really a gold kinda guy but still nice to look at Suffice it to say, I haven't had time to wear this as we have been apart in separate countries, but it's nice to see when I'm back. Here are some photos for your perusal... caseback Back 2 front: Size comparison with the Vegas (yes the Vegas has a plastic covering on the crystal).1 point

so happy about this little gen gem! Received it today, and happier then expected! Put it on a shark strap! Great weight, great quality, and killer look! The bezel is just amazing, i can't stop looking at it! I wanted to mod it to a 50 fathoms homage, but i think i just drop the idea and keep it like that! It's a 23jewels automatic movement. Haven't tried the lime yet. Sorry about the bad light! Opinions welcome1 point

Just check the bracelet width. I popped my grande date on a 20mm nato and there was a gap either side. Suggesting it may actually be a 21mm. I haven't got anything to measure it with just now but the 500m aquaracer is a 20mm.1 point

Ah, no problem then Some people don't understand that there are a lot of parts to the journey from the dealer to their house (or expect the dealer to be a magician and fix everything instantly) and get angry at the dealer, which, as you know, does no good at all and just makes sure everyone had a bad day. Josh will make sure everything works out for you. The problem you mentioned with Josh wanting the goods back before he sent out a replacement or did a refund is normal practise with any business in the UK, I've had the same problem a few times (this was with online dealers selling kitchen utensils and another selling metalworking tools), all I could do if I wanted a replacement in a hurry is agreed that I would buy another one, and then when the broken whatever-it-was got back to them, they would do a full refund, so I would end up paying for one, and having a working one as soon as possible. It just means that for a few days my bank account is out by the cost X 2.1 point

"Who has the best Sub?" IWC version. As always, search is your friend. Hundreds of posts on these watches, and the problems you will encounter with the seconds at 6 movements.1 point

I bought a gen SD insert for $150 a couple of years ago. They aren't that rare. But I doubt if you'll lose money on it if you just sell it.1 point

its gen, thats for sure. I am pretty sure that its for a seadweller, not a 14060. the size difference btw the 14060 and the 16610 is not as drastic as that one. I think you have a nice little money maker here. 16610 inserts are easy to get.1 point

Yup you are in good shape here jack, sometimes a mistake works out. No distress needed!1 point

If this is a rare insert and the one you want is not rare, you should be able to sell this one and buy the one you do want and make some money! More fool the seller who sold it to you1 point

Congrats on the Super-Avenger. Great lume. Love that one, will take it if You don´t want it:) This is on the next-to-get list (Breitling with numbers) and checked it out with an AD the other week. It´s a very thick watch and wears high, I already have some of those chunky ones and need something smaller so I will go for the thinner 44mm Avenger heritage after CNY. Meanwhile I think You really chose one of the best around, as said only reason for me not to get it now is the DSSD I have and the Panerai 193 submersible and alikes. The Breitlings are super-reps or near to and the quality is very high. As it´s a Chrono with the Asian 7750 don´t play around with the chrono function too much which should be easy because of the nice srew-in crowns and make ALWAYS sure only to stop it and reset it when the second hand is between 10 and 2, nowhere else. It´s worth to look for and to read about the Asian 7750 movement here on the forum before using it - so do it now:) Didn´t re-check if its an older version but think You can read all about the S-Avenger here: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/82645-super-avenger-the-bigger-bang/1 point

you can change keyboards on the android OS. right now im using swiftkey and enjoy it. its very customizable. you can adjust touch sensitivity https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey&hl=en there is also touch pal, which features swipe text, my friend swears by it. maybe you'll come to prefer the swipe text over the conventional finger pecking https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cootek.smartinputv5&hl=en these keyboard softwares also feature their own learning algorithms for typing errors with suggestions. i find accuracy to be quite impressive1 point

Mine was built by mymanmatt. It was built about a year ago. that's a well worn but nice genuine alligator strap, genuine Rolex 18k buckle, genuine dial, crystal, crown. Matt supplies the case and movement. actually he supplied everything except the strap and buckle.1 point

Thanks mate! I told the story here a few years ago, here it is: The coolest of the 300s was called the Black Lung. There were only a handful made, so they're rare as an honest politician. I did a LOT of looking and got banned from the Doxa site in the process (a long story) but eventually found one. I mentioned it to my diver friend and it turns out when he helped start SeaLab he was also doing some R&D for Doxa and they gave him one as a thank-you. He tried to find it so he could give it to me (more generosity) and discovered it had been lost somewhere in all his moves. Now this is cool: he lived in Chicago for awhile. And a Black Lung was just sold on Ebay, it was discovered in a box of old watches in Chicago by the son of some junk collector that rooted around and found all these old watches. So I wrote the guy that won it, and told him the story; who knows if it's the same piece? But what a story. Here's a better picture of the Aqualung logo:1 point
