  1. Hey Guys- Still a noob here but just wanted to see which reps and AD's you think have the best or most undetectable rolex reps? I am looking for something that only a jewler could determine as a rep or as close as reps can get to that. If this really isn't a possibility and it very well could be, then should I just be scouring the forum for franken watches that have the important gen pieces (whatever those may be)? Sorry for the presumable noob questions but I figured it was worth a shot and you guys might hook me up with some valuble info/ lessons in this whole ordeal.

  2. It many ways it is a shame that there are no reps of pocket watches. It seems that with only a few exceptions there current selection is junk or way out there on price. I finaly decided that with the choices of :1. Junk, 2. Expensive, 3. Old, I would go with old.

  3. I just bought this watch today. I got fed up waiting on a replica to get back to China (there for repairs). It had been 3 months and they still have not contacted me, so I guess I am just out $400 or so. Anyways here is my 38mm Seamaster Professional. It is a 1995 model, and authentic. I bought it off of a friend for $250.

  5. I'm rather impressed. I personally like it more on the sailcloth.

  6. I just recently purchased the Prometheus Sailfish in the black and can vouch for it being a solid well built timepiece! Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

  7. The simple approach imho is to shoot for the 16600 series as they are all better made than the new ceramic subs. Same for the Datejust. If it´s a Seadweller there is one Cyclops less to worry about. That means for around 200 USD You already get 90% of the looks. Every 1/2 percent better than costs between 100 and 200 USD more. Obviously if You worry the hands being too near the dial (which they are) TC is the way to go but if You are this perfectionist You also need to have acquired the skills to improve it Yourself so You may create Your own and unique money pit:) a wonderful one by the way...

  8. I'll start by saying this, I am not very good at documenting my work but pictures are en route, I also made some Newb mistakes during the dissassembly that I may need help fixing.... alright disclaimers notwithstanding.... I performed my very first keyless works repair last night! This whole issue came about after I got frustrated with a crooked crystal on my DSSD, it has been like this from the time it arrived, over a year ago. I had attempted to press the crystal in, with no luck, in the past but had never taken a watch apart and certainly didn't try that a year ago with I got this watch. This time, I started tapping the crystal (dumb, I know) and in the process I caused the second hand to pop off, the dial to come loose, and the crystal to stay right where it was when I started At this point I knew I had to take the watch apart to replace the second hand and I would just pop the crystal out and re-install it into the watch. (I also had no idea that the dial was loose on the movement at this time). I managed to get the Crystal installed in the case, nice and straight, and simply pop the second hand back on, no problems and I was good to go.... threw the watch on my wrist and took the dog for a walk, and that's when I saw the dial turning freely around inside the case When I got home I took the watch off and opened it up, pulled the movement out and glued the dial to the movement ring (not sure what this part is called but it had come unglued from the ring that connects the dial to the movement. I popped the watch back together only to immediately notice a spec of dust on the dial, and I went back in...... that's when my luck ran out and I finally gummed up the keyless works. It was now 20:00 and I was getting tired, but that didn't stop me. Tonight, between finishing my assembly and taking the dog for another walk, I will update this post with terribly documented repair pictures that show very little detail and will never help anyone, but like I said, I'm no good at documenting anything. Until then, I hope everyone is having a good.....time Mike

  9. There are a few gen dials that pop up on the bay..cheapest are some guy in Finland.. but also try Vanni... more expensive but can get a few... plus hands As you mentioned Mike.... if you check his past content he has done a few write ups on these..so you can pick and mix.. so to speak.. Then there is Al and Gilbert as I recall Domi has been involved in a few franken projects of late using the MBKs.... I have seen some of his reworkings of the CG and case etc... best one I saw was a 119 with gen dial and crystal.. Reg can probably pick you a good one out at the mo as he is over there...plus you can get a cheaper version from MBK thats good f you are parting for a project.. same CG case etc just crappier dial etc

  10. Good luck. I put a gen bezel on my BCE and I tugged and pried and cursed the rep one. I finally got it off but destroyed it in the process.
