  1. Well, Correct me if I am wrong, V, but isn't the watch in the link the same watch dealers have been selling here for a long time? Only difference is that it does not say Panerai andy the seller is advertising it as a "tribute watch" instead of a replica..... Found another one.... E-bay Auction
  2. Making fun of the admin is the SHORTEST way to getting kicked out.......

  4. Issue fixed.
  5. Still no e-mail? Your payment has been confirmed in the lottery system, so you should have received it by now T
  6. The file-format is not allowed to embed here. Like you said: security reasons.
  7. *Admin gets his note pad......*
  8. Sure.....when I have the time
  9. @retep For now it won't make a difference. Fitmic is right. The server time is wrong and it keeps updating into the wrong timezone. I thought I had fixed it, but the error keep coming back.
  10. 1. Yes, downgrading the server/hardware is an option. The other replica boards seem to be running fine on lower end systems. Guess the real difference is the traffic we have; 12.000.000+ hits every month/100GB+ traffic every month. Another big difference is that we have a lot of members online at the same time. All of these members are causing the server to do databaselookups when they search, post, read, etc, and this goes really smooth when you have a large dedicated server like we do. 2. Every time I bring this point up, we get more supporters. I guess that tells me what some of the members have said. People are lazy. They have to be asked to upgrade/contribut. So I guess I just have to remind the members more often about this, via PM or other ways. At least put things into a system so that maybe members who have been here 1 month gets a friendly reminder that there are costs involved in running this board. 3. TTK: Thanks Go though your closet and draers and see if you have other small bits and pieces I could include in the lottery. That way maybe more members would be interested and we could finish it 4. Trade area for supporters only is easy to incorporate. I'll wait until we decide if we want a full blown RWG supporter area before I incorporate this. Or maybe just do it right away to give at least a litte extra for now to the RWG supporters. 5. AMK: If 1000 members decided to pay, we would have no problem running the board 6. Phoband: Over 90% of the traffic RWG has is return visitors. About 80% of the current members seem to visit the forum once a month or more often. 1/3 of the members visit the board daily. On top of this comes the unregistered visitors/traffic Thanks again for all your good ideas. Hopefully I'll have a lot of time on my hands next week and be able to sit down and do something about all of this. After looking into all the comments, feedback, PM's, e-mails I have received (thanks for all your support and nice PM's e-mails, BTW!) and doing some investigations regarding how we can run this site better, I am looking forward to be able to incorporate some of the ideas found here and to do some other adjustments to the forum so that we will have our belowed forum around for a looooong time
  11. Burde vært 3-0 God tur...
  12. As some of you might remember, I posted a thread about 1 month back about the current "situation" here at RWG. I was getting a lot of "shitty" e-mails and PM's with ungrateful members, etc. You can take a trip down memory lane if you want by clicking here; http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=10988 Well, let's start with the "good" things first. I'm down from about 60 e-mails/PM's per day to about 40, so that's good. The general "tone" has also changed and like I said before, I don't mind answering these kind of e-mails and PM's. So far I've put the support-system I talked about in my other post on hold. As long as it stays on this level I should have no problems answering all your requests in the hours I usually spend on taking care of the board. Now, as you all remember, I "complained"about the finances in that last post. MANY members stepped up and upgraded their memberships and I am very thankful for this. RWG needs your financial support to stay online. If we have no supporting members, I'll start downgrading the server setup we have and hope that whatever I can afford to buy with the supporter-fees will be able to keep the site up as good as the current setup does. Not to mention keep it safe and secure! Anyway, when I posted this 25 days ago, the numbers looked like this; 2711 members 207 RWG Supporters 7,6% of the members are supporters Today 2957 members 214 RWG Supporters 7,2% of the members are supporters So it looks like we have gained 7 new RWG supporters in the last 25 days....despite the fact that 34 members have upgraded their membership, 27 seem to have decided not to keep their supporter status. 169 members answered the survey that I posted at the end of the other thread. 85 of these members were regular members, 76 RWG supporters and 6 other members (mods/dealers). Out of these members, 80,5% 136 members) answered that they would be willing to support the forum financially. Out of these members, I think that all the RWG supporters most likely answered yes. So if we remove them we have 60 members who would be willing to support the forum. I'm not going to comment any more on this. The numbers above speak for themselves, but it seems that it's a long way from saying that you will support the forum to reaching for the wallet..... Before I go on, here are some more numbers from the survey; 38.4% of the members who said they were willing to support the forum was willing to pay $5 pr. month. 20,5% was willing to pay $2 pr. month All participants agreed on keeping the current payment periods (Monthly, semi-anually, anually) 83,2% of the participants thought that you should get a 10%-20% discount when you signed up for a whole year as a RWG supporter. FYI: the current discount is 50% Out of the participants who does not want to support the forum, 30,3% said that a forum such as this should be funded by ads (let me get back to that....) 27,3% had other reasons and 12,1% said a forum like this should be free. 56,2% of the partticipants said that parts of the forum should be for RWG supporters only and 43,8% said the entire forum should be open to all Ads: Well, like I wrote about the ads in my last post, I was going to put them in a more visible place so that more people could see the interesting offers that sometimes get displayd and click the ads more often. Well, the first week, this worked just fine. Now, I do of course not know if it was because I moved the ads or because I told poeple that if you don't pay a RWG supporter fee the least cou can do is click the ads now and then and at least when you see something that interests you. So the first week a lot of people clicked the ads and it actually seemed to be able to generate some income from the ads. To bad it only lasted 1 week. Lottery: Well, either a lottery is not a good idea or we have the wrong prizes. But I must admit that I was sure that more than 14 members would get a ticket. So for now it looks like we'll just have to close the lottery when we have the funds to cover the cost of the prizes and maybe not arrange any more lotteries:( Anyway, I'm not going to bitch about the economy any more (at least not in this post), You have the facts and that's what I wanted to give you. Like I said before, I'm starting to wonder if it is really worth spending several hours a day on this if I know it will come to one point that I once again have to reach for my own wallet to pay the bills. Now I want to restart the discussion we had the last time I posted this. Should we close up parts of RWG to RWG supporters only? Should we maybe offer different levels of memberships; Regular member (Free); Can only read and post in forums where regular members have access. No access to PM, avatars, no access to the trading zone, etc... Get's 1 month free Silver membership trial when they sign up. After 1 month they are downgraded Silver members (cheap membership..something like $1 pr month): Regular status. Gives you access to use PM's, avatars. Like the regular membership today Diamond member/VIP/RWG Supporter: Full access with access to own areas Or should we just keep everything the way it is? And just remind new and old members again and again to support the forum....???? So go ahead...your thoughts and ideas are appreciated...... Thomas
  13. No, of course not...I said Red, you colourblind fool
  14. FYI: Had a look at the script and removed any bugs that would cause members to get the username/password box.
  15. Well, if this is an illusion, let's see what happens to your account when I hit this big, red BAN-button
  16. Thanks, Linder. I suspect the interest for this thread has "blown over" after your forecasts. So move on people...nothing to see here...
  17. Well, the lottery is set up so it will close automatically when all the tickets are sold. As soon as the last payment gets confirmed, the script draws the winners and sends an e-mail to all of them. IF not all the tickets get sold, we will ahve to wait at least until we have sold enough tickets to cover the cost of the prizes.
  18. Guess the "tool crowd" is to small for such a lottery or all members have all the tools they need? The winner will have some great toos to play with for...um....christmas?
  19. Ummm....Even if it is fully automated and the winners are drawn randomly by the script, I don't think it would be right by Birdman to buy tickets. After all, we are paying for these tools and I think it would be more fair if another member won these tools.
  20. 100 tickets are for sale. Check the lottery page for some stats (tickets, sold, tickets for sale, etc.)
  21. You are of course correct. But to keep this as short as possible, please only smoke cigarette/sigar butts
  22. Forgot to mention that the tools and watchwinder has been provided by Birdman at very friendly prices.
  23. No smoking allowed in this thread!
  24. All members can buy tickets, so this must have been a coincedence. And just a FYI; the numbers represented in the lottery is not the number of tickets you would like to purchase, they are the actual ticket numbers. So you can select the ticket numbers you think would be your lucky number(s).
  25. Probably a good idea...I'll go get a shovel...
