  1. copy and pasted.

    It's someone's avatar.

    Sevmond's avatar:

    http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...ads/av-3661.jpg

If you have his avatar in cache, you won't get pop ups.

It looks like someone has added a .htpasswd in the forum folder.

The solution is to make the members to host the avatar somewhere else, or you can always adblock it.

The image/upload folder is protected by a .htaccess file by default to prevent outside linking to the pictures :)

So the above is no phising/password sniffer/etc

  2. I've been a DJ for several years (not anymore) and music has always been one of my biggest passions. I've got almost 6000 cd and countless other albums stored on my computer :)

Just for fun, I'll try and recommend a new/old album from my extensive collection every week :)

So, first out I have picked out an album I haven't been listening to for a long time. Such a shame, because it is a great album. It's kinda special, but I like it. Let me know what you think :)

    Genre: Native American

    Year: 1994

I have to say that I seriously doubt your theory about a password sniffer on the old RWG. and I think we have to look elsewhere. The reason I am saying this is there are no known working hacks for the 2.1.3 version of Invisionboard that would give you access to the administrators area. To be able to install a password sniffer you would need access to the forums files and this can only be gained by

a)access to the admin section of the forums software or

    b)ftp-access/shell-access to the server.

The first time RWG went down a couple of weeks ago it came back online with clear signs that somebody had been abusing a well known sql injection bug in the software. I believe I posted about this back then. This does NOT give you access to the admin section or ftp-access.

Having said all that, there is always the possibility there is a new and totally unknown hack out there, wich makes these things possible, but I do not believe your passwords was caught by a password sniffer at RWG1

  4. Actually, this watch up for grabs is a rather unusual piece, so I don't think it's to easy for the dealers to get. It's not a standard Santos. This was a watch Narikaa posted a picture of long time ago and it is HUGE (45mm + 19mm thick!!). He managed to get 4 of these the last time he was out travelling, and I purchased two of them.

  5. Yeah, but only you get to see your own IP. If you really wanted the IP addresses of everyone here, it's fairly easy to do. You run a webserver and use your Avatar as a bug. You get all the IPs, but you don't know to whom they belong, unless you write a Bot to trawl the bottom section of a page that shows who's reading it the instant someone views your avatar. Then you can draw a correlation between most likely IPs and usernames.

Hmm ... that could actually work.

    Damn, must stop thinking ...

Guess that won't work, because you won't know what thread/topic the users are reading, so you can know who is loading your avatar ;)

  6. It's not the board's problem...it's all of us trying to help someone who is down, just like all of us helped Dutchy.

A bit off topic, but where is Dutchy? He became very quiet after that fund raiser. Just wondering if there was ever posted any pics of the watches he received etc.

  7. Really? Passwords aren't that hard...

The passwords on this forum and TRC as MD5 encrypted. It's not impossible to decrypt these passwords, but it is VERY hard and takes a looooong time.

    A more general concern, from a security standpoint, is that people tend to choose "weak" passwords. May I suggest this link and you can go ahead and test your password;

    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/p...rd_checker.mspx

There is also a lot of useful information on how to create secure passwords and other password related info.
