I have been looking for a Gen Omega and it seems the 007 one is a quartz. Is this correct?

Admin, do any of these Gen dealers have a website or an email address as I am looking for a good deal on a Cuervo Y Sobrinos. If you see any can you get me an email address?
Thanks
-
Just a personal observation...
The Cuervo Y Sobrinos - Prominente is a FM legal knock-off...
and there is nothing I hate more than style thiefs...
A 2824 Fm Replica would better serve the purpose for a heck of a lot less $$...
imo
Frank Muller is a knock off from many styles in the early 1900. Cuervo Y Sobrinos predates Frank Muller i am pretty sure. I have seen an ad they did in the 30's that has this watch. Frank Muller is only a 25 year old company. Who ripped of who?

Thanks for Timeman.net. I will check it out

You know reps are great, but I was in the Touneau store and there is nothing like a gen.
Here is a list of the three gens that i am buying and why.
Sector series 700
I want a watch that I can swim in and not worry, but I want something styling and I love the band and this one uses a swiss ETA 2824-2.
The Cuervo Y Sobrinos - Prominente
Hey Frank Muller has nothing on this watch. Beautiful and can be gotten for $2040 over the net. Comes in a beautiful humidor box and I do not think there will ever be a rep of it.
3) Omega speedmaster moon watch. I cant bring myself to get a rep of this. I got to have the real one. This will be the last one I get as I am on the hunt for the Snoopy version, but I will settle for any of them.
One last thing. I will be selling some of my reps to pay for these, but I will probably still collect a few more as after these three watches my wife will kill me if I buy any more Gens

Thanks guys. I emailed them a few questions and havent gotten an email back yet. I am sure they would be worse with customer service. I will search out other grey marketers.

I will be selling Hen straps soon. I hope nobody is upset with a chicken skin strap as these are free range hens

Thanks for the Clean up

stingray is hardly endangered unlike croc or alligator. and to the guy posting history rhetoric in all of my stingray posts go hug a tree as you eat your beef and wear your leather strap and shoes
-
they farm these in thailand and i have a permit for them through the department of interior
i also have cites permit for crocodile and alligator. croc and alligator are protected and we have to jump through hoops to import.
please keep your uninformed posts out of my threads unless you are a polyester wearing vegan

Got this on Ebay for $24.99 plus $25 shipping. Seems to be stainless steel. Tight crown guard. The lume is actualy better than any of the reps that I own. Automatic movement. Not that bad for $50 shipped.

What do you think?

Please note that Zircons are not Cubic zirconia. Zircons hare a natural stone in a beautiful hue of colors. The cubic zirconia that is used in jewelry and does not share the same atomic structure as Zircons. Also a simple diamond tester can tell the difference as well as most jewelers including myself.
Cubic zirconia does occur naturley but it is extemely rare.

I agree with all the 3 horrible looking watches...
anyway ...Birdman...this is just a question from a downunder people...how much actually it cost for Hummer over there in USA ...brand new and 2nd hand ??
curious..I like it
Mine is an H3 and set me back 36,000. We live in Hurricane alley so it is great for going over trees in the road and will forge 2 feet of water.

At the risk of having my hat handed to me here, I'll state an opinion I have voiced before. Ugliest PAM? Isnt that a redundant question? To me, these watches have no aesthetics. There's nothing subtle or interesting about them. They look like they were designed by a bunch of Navy Seals in a bar one night. I guess a military watch combined with celebrity patronage has given these watches a passionate following but I just don't see the appeal. They were designed out a desire for complete practical function, huge, readable and bulletproof. Similarly, so was the Humvee. Although the commercial version of that vehicle enjoys a similar cult status thanks to Governor Arnold's patronage, it is just too plain ugly and impractical for mass market appeal. Not to disrespect afficianados of Panerai, there are certainly enough passionate fans of this watch to make it a well known and top selling replica but just like the Hummer, I don't think people are on the fence about them when they see one. It's either love at first site or "What the hell is that ugly thing?"
Hey I drive a Hummer

My wife was shocked when she looked over my shoulder and saw some of the avatars. She thought I was on a porn site. I explained to her about avatars and that some choose some that are not the best of taste. Turning them off would take away from the Forum experience. I think a gentle nudge to Admin that a certain one is obscene and then Admin should nudge the member to change it should be enough. A nude woman is not obscene but a sex act is. Puppypants avatar is right on the line and could go either way in my opinion. Clubbing seals is obscene. A topless women is not.
By the way watchgrl your 37? Wow more like 27

Ordered one of his slightly blemished Teak boxes as well as some straps. Wow I could not see were the box was blemished! What a great value!

Frankt comes to my office every so often, nice guy!

If you get this one check the srews in the guard. Mine fell out the first day and were lost. I bought a whole load of asst watch screws and put them in with lock tite.

Let me just say, this a fantastic looking watch and fantastic value as a watch. I wish I had that kind of disposable fun money
But can I point out a potential flaw (might be wrong) in your gold value calculation for those interested in the 'investment' aspect. I think you worked out the weight of the gold based on the pure density, and then did the 75% calculation to bring it down to 18cts. But the 25% that isn't gold doesn't have the same density.
Stainless steel has a density of roughly 8g / cm3; pure gold 19.3g / cm3
18ct gold has a density of 15.3g / cm3 for pink (slightly less for red, slightly more for yellow)
So your 35g of stainless steel would not be 84g of 18ct gold, but 66.9 g of 18 ct gold. And, of course, only 75% of this is solid gold.
So your calculation would go 66.9 g / 31.1 grams per troy oz =2.15 troy oz X 75% gold X 625 USD/troy oz=$1008 worth of gold.
I could be way off - so please say if I've got this wrong.
As I said, even so, I think that's still a good deal and a 'lot of watch' for those that can afford it.
Best of luck guys!
You are correct. Also the thickness of the gold may not be the same as the Stainless.
You cannot look at this as an investment. Though it seems like a good deal for a solid 18kt gold watch.
One other thing, I do a lot of alloying 14kt and 18kt gold for castings and there are a lot of different alloys that will give you different shades of rose gold.
This being said, I am interested if it is one of the dealers that I have dealt with and not one of the more
difficult dealers.
