Evidently Josh does not RPT not sell the Beginmariner as a M Serial with ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX engraved in the rehaut . I was about to order one so I asked and here is his response. Could be you just got a lucky purchase. Nice watch though
The one I am selling does not have engraved rehaut.
Similar watch with engraved rehaut is only avail in swiss or asian eta 2836. Item no rlss01007 and 8.
Seems like he changed his mind on selling this one. Hopefully Ill get this one as I just ordered two days ago. http://www.jpc8118.com/rlss10009-black-beg...ing-p-6253.html

Great writeup! Thought i'd throw in my pics. maratec
Love the KBAR Leatherneck but where's youre grease gun.
For those that want the real Bond strap check out this link. It seems the real Bond strap was not grey and black at all. Thanks to blue ray and HD we can now actually see the real colors.

I guess Josh hasn't updated his pics yet. The crown on the M serial doesn't appear to be as big as the original crown on the ealry noobs/beginmariners. As gplracer says, maybe the cg's are getting better. This could really be a great case with just a few mods- correct sized crown, trimmed cg's, and a few turns on the lathe so that the inside diameter of the bezel was just a bit larger so that the aftermarket inserts and gen inserts would snap in and it would be a killer watch. It's got the correct rehaut for the 16800, so lug holes would be great! A WM pearl is also a great improvement and cheap when you can buy it for $10+.

Looks like Bill over at MK II is in the process of trademarking Tornek-Rayville. http://tarr.uspto.gov/tarr?regser=serial&a...=Request+Status
As I understand he just sent the dials to be finished. Wow. Maybe he and DSN should get together on this project. LOL . btw my FF from DSN is still running strong and still looks great.

I dunno the strap on the rep looks cheap. Im not aware of Blancpain providing leather straps with the FF. They either come with sail cloth canvas strap or rubber strap. Either way its out there now we just have to wait to see if it looks like the link or something entirely different, Heres hoping

I bet they are all selling the same thing. Pick your dealer first, then the watch. I'd go through all the dealer sections and read reviews to see which you think you'll trust.
Yeah the only problem is there arent that many reviews that Ive seen. I see the one review about one purchased from PT but thats about it.

I've never used WU on any deals. Can anyone share what kind of overhead fees there are? Do you go to a WU office, or do you do the transfer online?
Also, how safe is WU transactions (if I do it online via CC)?
Thanks - hoping to get myself a Blacksteel!
Hey I did a transfer online to DSN with no problems. If you are a first time WU online user you have to call WU and verify some information so they know its a legitimate transaction and not someone who has stolen your card. The fee is based on the amount that you send. For 350USD I think I paid 45 bucks or so in fees or something like that its on the website. It was a flawless transaction received my watch from him in 2 days which is the fastest Ive ever gotten a watch from China. Good luck

The blue and black one on the right of your pic shows a decompression ring. Cool someone rep that and make it 3ATM and Ill buy
-
It is 39 mm ... the watch is from Timefactors. It is a Speedbird III - PRS-22.
This looks like one of the original IWC watches Ive seen somewhere in one of my books Ill look it up and get back to you. Time Factors is a pretty cool place to get homages from.

I have looked at this watch and looked at this watch. I ended up getting a gen Tissot SeaStar 1000 that I thought looked similar enough. I sold the SeaStar after deciding my Festina Manhattan looked better with no glare on the dial.
If this watch were stamped Invicta instead of Blancpain, I don't think any of us would want it.
The new one is nice and I would get a rep of it but in all honesty the DSN is rep is faithful to the original 1953 FF and its built to last. This is not just another rep. You have to own one to appreciate it and I can't say that about all my reps. I put this over my 111h and UPO and I thought those were built pretty well. This watch I cant say enough about.
-
Yes pics. A wrist shot would be great.
How does the FF wear? I know its 41mm but sometimes watches wear bigger/smaller than their size.
Check out this discussion
http://www.rwg.cc/members/DSN-Blancpain-FF-t91763.html
its a 41 mm but looks like a 44 with the bezel. I love this thing. It doesnt even look or feel like a rep. Its very heavy and looks really good, especially after you replace the strap
-
We can only hope
I think this is the one weve been screaming for the last year or so. btw i have a composite band on the dsn one and sail cloth like the one in the pic. i would buy this thing in a heartbeat 9but it has to be an auto)
-
Yeah its a quartz. If you look at http://puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=945 you can see the battery in it.
I really like the look, and even like the vintage versions Davidsen is selling but the dial looks so small on the vintage I was hoping for a good rep of the modern FF's.
The new blancpain is 45mm as compared to the 41 original. I get comments on the one I purchased from DSN everyday and they cant believe its a rep. Of course DSNs is even better than the polish fakes that came out and is probably built better than the original 1953 addition. Of course the only thing the old blancpain and the new blancpain have in common is the name. so if you really think about it the ones DSN are selling are actually legitimate reps as the company that actually made the originals went out of business and the new company just purchased the name. Even they admit that on their blancpain forum.
I wish we could get a blancpain modern version san chrono

My wife purchased an IWC FA Jones Portuguese two years ago for Christmas. It still works and looks great
