  1. Thanks for your reply. I'll have a look at doubleredseadweller. I haven't looked there for a very long time.
  2. I bought this off a CQ-out auction. It's not a terribly good rep at all. It's too thin, too light and the movement is a Chinese copy of an ETA 2836 The bezel is too thin and the caseback has no weight to it. The dial and hands look good to me though. What are your thoughts on this rep?
  3. I doubt that so much wear could have occured within the space of one week. Even a Chinese 21j movement should be capable of running dry for quite a long time.
  4. That's frightening Why do they even bother fitting airbags into something that just folds up when it hits something.
  5. I totally agree. I used to see several faulty 3035s every year. This was when they were still fairly new. I've serviced hundreds of 1570s and they are far tougher and don't suffer from any real problems. The barrel arbor can rust on a leaking watch and that causes serious wear issues which can kill the watch. It's an easy fix though. The ETA 28XX series are more reliable and robust than the 3035, with the added benefits of value for money and excellent parts availability.
  6. Looks pretty genuine to me. I'm surprised it is doing so well though.
  7. It does seem to be a lot of money for a rubber strap.
  8. That's my favourite watch! I'll mod mine when I service it.I'llleave it alone until it needs a service or develops a fault. I'll replace the hands with gen ones at the same time.

    My first Omega

I have one too. Excellent rep and very classy. I lubricated the ball race on the auto rotor on mine. It was a bit noisy. A few drops of Moebius Synt-A-Lube did the trick. I've got all of the correct lubricants for the 7750 and I may service mine one day but I'd rather wait for it to develop a fault before I do. Cheers, Ian
