  1. Alright I'm tired of seeing these movements being inaccurately identified. Maybe it comes from ignorance so I'm here to help alleviate that issue.

There are several ways to identify a 7750 movement. We all know there are at least three different models out there of this widely used movement. So no one buys a so called Swiss movement off of Ebay or worse buys one from here I've made this quick and easy tutorial.

    1. Old Asian 7750 (AKA 7750a or 7750b) which runs at 21,600 vph. I personally have had no luck with this movement. I've owned three reps thus far with this movement and all 3 had issues.

    2. Genuine ETA 7750 (AKA Valjoux 7750) which runs at 28,800 vph. I've only owned one of these but it ran and reset perfectly.

    3. New Asian 7750 (AKA 7750b1) which runs at 28,800 vph. I currently own 2 of these movements. Both function properly and keep excellent time but other members have reported issues. Overall seems to be a bit more reliable than the previous Asian copies.

Alright so now I hope everyone knows which movement is which by simply glancing at a few pics.

    Cheers,

    Jon :victory:

  2. Yeah I recall he did, but the odds of that actually happening are pretty much slim to none in my opinion. Seems like the goods are there. The bracelet is nearly the same as the Bent GT. The dial and hands are in the new Super Avenger carried by Trusty and Josh. The case has been done somewhat in quartz models. The bezel is basically the same as the Seawolf SS. The movement is obviously avialable out of box with no mods! Even the Sapphire AR crystal is done. Seems simple enough but still no rep!?!

Like I said, I've heard its on the way but just want to see if its really in demand or if I'm the only one!

    Cheers,

    Jon :victory:

  3. Just wondering if anyone else is ready for a good 7750 Chronomat rep. I've seen Breitling after Breitling released but still not the most popular model out, the now infamous Chronomat Evolution!

So I'd just like to see what the interest actually is. There is speculation that maybe, just maybe a rep is on the way but nothing is set in stone. Hopefully we can show the dealers and their suppliers that there is great interest for this model!

Please vote honestly. All those peeps that say yes but then would pick at the flaws and not buy please be honest! If a rep came out of the same quality as the new 187 or Breitling Bents would you buy?!?

    I know I would!

    Cheers,

    Jon :victory:

  4. Scans? I can do that.

This is the wrist shot ...

This is the watch shot ...

... and this is possibly the first time actual wrist scans have been posted.

(Have I made my point? :Jumpy: )

    :lol::lol::lol: HILARIOUS!

i actually forgot to wear a watch today :(

Don't think I could ever forget to wear my watch! :brow:

And for me I'll wear this tonight!

  5. Got a couple new straps in today. My rep budget is spent for the month but I can always swing a few straps! I also got a new push button deployment buckle for the Bentley model. If you've never had one of these they are very nice and add a bit of character to a nice dress watch.

Alright enough words I'll let the pictures do the talking. Sorry if the pictures are quite up to par, I shot them fairly quickly on a low battery.

Oh yeah and BIG THANKS to the RWI member Efnstefn who sent me the Authentic Breitling travel case just because he knew I'm a Breitling nut! What a great guy! :3a:

    Enjoy!

  6. When I saw that new super avenger I was impressed firstly. But then I noticed the strange dial which of course seems to be something chronomat or what ever. But I guess the super avenger rep will be a truly good base for a frankenwatch project with gen dial. I realized a franken avenger titanium by swapping gen dial, swiss 7750 and gen hands. But unfortunately I don't know any source to getting a super avenger dial... :cc_confused:

I thought the same thing but also have no source for the gen dial and gen hands!

The layout would be the same as the Calibre 13 is based on the ETA 7750.

    Cheers,

    Jon

  7. Easy

Quartz sucks because its too simple. Mechanical is nice because its a complex, precision instrument. Accuracy depends on quality and maintenance of a mechanical time peice. I guess I like the idea of having one on my arm. If I had the money I would invest in Gen watches that build their own in house movements but for now the best I can do is Swiss movement reps.

Also quartz watches nearly drove the Swiss watch industry broke when they came out and were being mass produced by Asian factories. The art of the mechanical watch was also nearly done in because of this demand plumet. This is one reason now it is difficult to find a watch smith that can work on the more complex (especially mechanical chronograph) movements.

Basically like I said before Quartz sucks!

PS> If you have the choice between Asian 21J and an ETA I would always go with the ETA movement.
