Well the explorer build is done just finished cutting and installing my new stem. Thanks to all of you who provided guidance and parts. Here are a few quick iPhone pics

I made progress on the Explorer build today i got the hands set and was casing the whole thing up when i was having a bit of trouble with the Stem and crown lining up properly. Nothing that cant be fixed i thing i just need to file a bit of brass off the out side of the brass spacer ring in order to get it to fit a little less tight. Its like a press fit right now and i think i need to be able to move it a bit to allow the stem to line up properly. Well long story short i broke the stem of my ETA 2824-2 and now need a new one. anyone know where i can order one i searched ebay but couldn't find any in the states. some pics cant believe i didn't take any with the hands on.

Wearing it since I got it this week I have a new obsession with vintage Rolex

Thanks Vlydog i picked up a donor watch on eBay and it arrived yerterday here are some picks. i think it is a really good looking watch and feel bad having it sacrifice its heart for the Tudor project. I have been unable to order for DW to get the case set and dial. I have become a bit concerned about his quality after reading one of the latest reviews in the DW section it seems some folks have had some rather big issues with service and quality thread here http://www.rwg.cc/topic/139276-awful-experience-with-dw-7032-pics-inside/ pics of donor she runs and the chronograph works and resets fine. I will have the movement overhauled before building the 7032.

I got the cyclops off thanks for the pointers now all i need is a seconds hand and she can get put together, Anyone know where i can get just a seconds hand? I have the other two they came with the dial from a very nice forum member so saw my project thread and helped me out. Thanks...

Wearing my Seiko Sumo today got a new bracelet for it yesterday

Hi guys I'm getting closer on this one I was able to get a rep dial and the hour and min hands but i am in need of a seconds hand for the project if any of you have a seconds hand that would work on a modern explorer I please let me know. I also need to remove the cyclops from my gen crystal if you have any tips I'm all ears. I'm off to search the forum know for that its got to be on here somewhere. thanks for the help

Thanks guys I put in a low buy it now price on the one in the complete watch with the 45 min register and got it so now to order the DW kit and get it built. I assume that is the best case and dial deal out there let me know if there is another one I should be looking at. Thanks

Hi Guys I'm already planning my next project and have started looking for a Valjoux 7734 for a Tudor MC project and wonder what the going rate was for one of these movements in working condition. I don't want to over pay so felt it best to ask and learn before buying one. Also most of them I'm seeing are with the 30 min register not the 45 needed for the Tudor to be 100% corect. Not sure i need it to work 100% properly I can't think of the last time I used a chronograph past 5 or 10 min for timing somthing. Thanks in advance for your help.

I had the SD out comparing it to my new BK TW sub and took a few pics thought I would share. The dial print on the SD is much whiter it's that way in person as well it not the pic. Some day I will take out the real camera and take some proper pics

Yes as a matter of fact it is. My crappy iphone pic doesn't do it justice. Its my first rep I have a few Gens and this one looks the part just as much as the Gens do.

I was wanting to do a modern version the case i have is a modern 16200 DJ case ( mid 90's) so looking for a modern dial not a matte one Thanks

thanks everyone for the reply's and guidance I think a good quality rep dial with ETA dial feet would be just the ticket don't know if that type of thing is out there. I have the Gen crown thanks to Ubi and i got a Stilty spacer ring for my 2824 so now just to find the right dial and get it put together I've been gathering parts of this for 3 years on and off, it seem to lack the follow thru this hobby needs. Guess that explains why its 3rd tier on my hobby list after racing bikes and playing guitar. thanks again all

Hello, I have a Gen 16200 DJ case and i want to put a Explorer I dial in it to complete the Project i have had laying around for ever. Can someone tell me if a Rep dial will fit int the gen case and who would be a good source for one. Thanks in advance, I'm knew here and to the building of a franken watch so please be patience.
