    or if you want to give up on it.. I will buy the dial and bezel lol   I just bought a 3185 for one of these projects :)

    Ha ha. I'm pretty frustrated at waiting for a used noob v2 to appear in the sales sections so you never know I could be tempted to jack this project in at some point! I know maybe I should just order from a td but seems a shame to spend so much as most of the parts will be replaced.

  2. Good evening.

    I managed to het get hold of some gen Rolex parts and want to build a Franken gmt.

    I've got;

    gen bezel

    gen dial

    tc dwo

    gen crystal with Lec and ar date bubble.

    So im thinking all I need is a donor v2 onwards gmt2 116710?

    I read a rumour of a new chs version being released by noob factory, any updated word on this?

    Im really trying to keep costs down as I got a deal on the gen parts and a Franken of this standard for under £800 all In would be a great achievement for me and a good compliment to my gen Rolex sub.

  3. Hi guys

    A couple more additions to my Franken PO

    I replaced the lmpo case back with a gen case back

    i sourced a v5 bracelet for my Franken PO and attached gen end links.

    Really happy I now have a 2201.50.00

    just short a half link for the perfect fit and have no idea where to find one.

    Can anyone help me out?

  4. I haven't posted on here for a while so wanted to share a few images of my latest build.

    I'm currently the proud owner of a gen smp ceramic. I decided I wanted another watch to wear as an alternative and when I spotted a gen PO dial and hands at a giveaway price I couldn't resist. So I went to build yet another Franken PO (I've done a few now!) this one would be a keeper but I wanted to see if I could make a watch I'm happy with for a price I'm happy with as gen omega parts seem so much more expensive than they did 5-6 years ago.

    Here's the dial and hands;

    Then I needed a donor watch. I decided to go with the lmpo, it comes with a 2824 movement, decent crystal, crown and correct placed he valve so out of the box seemed a very accurate base to start.

    So out with the old and in with the new, I sold off the bezel, dial and bracelet to offset the costs, this is a budget Franken after all. I did the dial and hand swap myself. Even though I got a gen eta dw, I didn't want to risk messing up the movement or having to send it off for 4 months so decided (for now) to keep the lmpo dw even though it has silver font, hopefully only I will  likely ever know the difference.

    I then won a gen bezel for a great price on eBay but it appears the greedy [censored] bag of a seller had been given a better offer offline so pretended he had lost the bezel as soon as the auction finished and he saw he hadn't got as much as his private offer.

    Anyway I did some research and found a v5 bezel with orange insert and modified pearl over on rwi. I scoured the web for the best aftermarket black insert and went with clarkes, super fast delivery  I filed the hole a little larger, used the nodded pearl and bezel from the v5, ditched  the orange insert and am pretty happy with the result for a fraction of the price of a gen.

    I have always been fussy about omega pearls and bezels and will keep my eye out for another gen, but for now very passable!

    Here it is on nato:

    finally, the nato didn't quite do the watch justice, I wanted a solid gen feeling beater of a watch. so this last week I have managed to source a barely used gen rubber strap and kept the price very reasonable for the complex project. Here she is;

    total price £260 all in. Considering the price of a gen dial and rubber strap and a lmpo I'm pretty happy with myself. 90% gen looking for 10% of a gen price - can't say fairer than that!

    i would love to finish it off with a gen bezel, proper dw, v5 or gen caseback and a new unfaded second hand but these aren't essential just yet.

    Let me know what you think.

  5. So I decided to relinquish my last rep watch in favour of a gen smp ceramic. I got this for an amazing price and have a bracelet on the way. I have to say, I've had some great gens and reps but I had a serious 'flipping' problem I hope to have now cured, especially as I have a gen smp on my wrist  once again, a feeling I just can't replicate with a replica!

    my my first ever rep was a closed factory smp bond back in 2005 and I loved it so much I just had to have the gen. From here I have had many gen Rolex watches, at least 6 seamasters and countless reps and Frankens in between!

    For me nothing beats the feeling of wearing a high end genuine watch such as an omega and Rolex. I've learned a lot about watches through this hobby and long may it continue.

    So heres the gen smp on bond NATO for today. Amazing watch in every way and I'm very glad I pulled the gen trigger once more.

  6. So true to form, for those bond fans out there. I have news hot off the press. omega will not only release the spectre Aqua terra limited edition 15,007 gauss, they will also be releasing a limited edition seamaster 300.

    This will resemble bonds actual watch in spectre on the lovely omega NATO strap, and it seems the limited edition aspect will be on the rear of the watch. This should be more appealing to many buyers as the 007 numerals applied in various ways to the dial is seen as a little bit ott by many.

    It may still have some form of gun barrel effect on the rear of the watch.

    Let's wait and see.
