  1. TC posted a comparison review on his blog between his TC sub and a gen late Y series Sub without lug holes.

This gen sub was the inspiration for my Franken TC build which I built using these gen images as reference. My watch has v3 bracelet, gen dial, gen crystal and gen insert.

I have now taken a few photos of my watch to compare with the images of the gen from TCs blog. Any glaring observations?

I know the photos aren't great but you get the idea. Hope you like it.

  2. Also, I'm not interested in the Bond stuff, certainly not anything with '007' plastered all over it, maybe some of the stuff worn in the films.

    Thanks,

    Higs

Seamaster is the model of watch, to attempt to liken it to car e.g ford (omega) focus (seamaster) then there's the specialities such as the ST (planet ocean)

The smp is the seamaster professional most common of which is the good old blue brosnan seamaster. Here's mine; B1DD0C80-B5E1-4C8C-8370-EF4CA89EDA6D-503-0000003F7230A073.jpg

The planet ocean (2006 -2011) came in 2 sizes 42mm and 45. The 45 has a scalloped bezel edge the 42 looks more coin edged, here's my 42 mm po; 7573D68D-BEF6-4DE1-BC67-DB8545C89CAB-1717-000000C261E72BDA_zps0348aa1b.jpg

I could go on and on with new models, sizes, chronograph versions. There's a decent omega app which you can flick through under categories and familiarise yourself. When you come to look at reps. I'd say the best current omegs rep is the 5th gen planet ocean (42mm) or if you want the 45mm that's referred to as a UPO.

The seamaster (smp) reps are pretty poor unless you go for the chronograph version.

    I hope this helps.

  3. My watch is pretty much a super Franken already (dial, hands, date wheel, crystal, bezel, crown, tube, he valve and strap all gen) I know a caseback can't be seen but just for my own amusement I wouldn't mind taking one more step to perfect my watch.

Has anyone done this final mod? Will it effect water resistance? Will I also need a new gasket?

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Thanks.
